Title: Bob Dylan MusiCares Speech
Post by: Rkd on February 09, 2015, 04:58:22 PM
Bob received a lifetime achievement award on Friday from MusiCares. He was expected to speak for 30 seconds. He gave a 35 minute speech. It is a fascinating view of him as songwriter. As I read the speech, I could see why he and MK are good friends. I think they think alike.

Here is a quote about the R & R Hall of Fame: He did it with style and grace. You won't find him in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He's not there. Metallica is. Abba is. Mamas and the Papas -- I know they're in there. Jefferson Airplane, Alice Cooper, Steely Dan -- I've got nothing against them. Soft rock, hard rock, psychedelic pop. I got nothing against any of that stuff, but after all, it is called the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Billy Lee Riley is not there. Yet.

And here is the entire speech transcript:

His speech is quite fascinating, considering after what i paid for the gig with MK back in 2011 in Dublin where Bob was absolutely abysmal I kind of disliked him. With such a big catalogue I am only now discovering a lot of it. But live, never again. But seemed like a great night, i hope they will release some of the performances.

From the clip I saw, it seems Sheryl Crow did an incredible cover of 'Boots of Spanish Leather'
