Time Will End All Sorrow (Mark Knopfler)

LYRICS
The campfires have been lit along the river
You wouldn’t know of trouble anywhere
Someone is playing a concertina
Some old familiar air

It takes me back into another lifetime
Before we ever fought in fields of mud
Where lives like autumn leaves are tossed and scattered
And lost in the swirling flood

But how a song can heal a weary heart
And bring you closer to me where I lie
A song can heal a weary heart
Time will end all sorrow by and by

The moon is laying soft upon the water
Smoke comes drifting gently from the hill
They tell us that this war will soon be over
Maybe in another lifetime it will

But how a song can heal a weary heart
And bring you closer to me where I lie
A song can heal a weary heart
Time will end all sorrow by and by

Time will end all sorrow by and by

GREAT song !

starts like a Queen Rocker, ends in a wild Border Reiver with loud guitar and loud vocals !

what a Bonus Compilation this time - awesome. It´s like Privatteering, two souls in "Tracker" : the silent one and the rockin stuff ...  :clap

Tracker ist the richest album with its bonus tracks since "STP"

Ruth backing vocals again on this one, nice tune, reminds me of All that Matters.

This song is really beautiful, would make a great closing song on any album.

This song is such a beautiful track and it has so great touching lyrics. Not too far away from Done With Bonaparte I guess.
Lovely melody, so good to hear when you really feel down and sorrow.

It reminds me of the songs of Stephen Foster.

Simply beautiful. Again - and as always - there's not one weak track on either the album itself or among the bonus tracks. I love them all, even though I have concerns about Guy's contributions on some of the songs, as I always have and probably always will. Sigh. Not on this one, though, here he's mercifully absent.
