Post by: IrisRose on January 13, 2009, 04:34:58 PM
Probably impossible to get in and tape (even PH could tape only from the lobby a couple of years ago ;D ) But possible to tape any TV clips that might have MK in them?

Ha, well the bad news is that since I moved to Edinburgh I no longer have satellite TV, therefore I am unable to tune into the various local news broadcasts from around the UK.

However if anybody else has Sky TV (I think Waterline Man does) and a means of recording it I would be able to talk them through the process.  :)

All that said, Tim Healy and Denise Welch aren't really THAT popular, so I would be surprised if this made the local news, and even more surprised if MK was featured. Still, stranger things have happened. In any case the news shows are shown online so we would be able to see it that way, but I struggled to actually download it when the report about Bradley Downs was on last year.

I have Sky TV but I'm not so sure that I can pick up local TV stations on it - as a man I know that I have sky sports 1,2,3,extra,sky news, setanta, sports 1,2,setanta sports news & setanta GOLF :P Oh & Sky News when theres nothing good on the sports channels - but thats not very often ;D ;D

I think I was able to pick up Hay On Wye last year & as far as I'm aware that was Sky Wales or something - I must check what channels I have when i go home - other than the sports ones anyway :o.

If I can pick it up I will be able to record it on tape as the dvd players that I have are very basic I'm afraid. I know that when the Bradley Downes clip was online last year I wasn't able to watch it over here as you needed to be from the UK :'(

I'll check it when I get home & like Arnie says I'll be back  8) 8)

I have of course put the Bradley Downs clip on youtube for losers just like you Waterline Man who aren't lucky enough to live in the UK.  ;)

You can add the ITV channels manually to your Sky box, this is what I did to get the Newcastle (Tyne Tees) news.

The info on how to do it is here:

Dusty you are most definitely a geni ass  ;D ;D I have been meaning to check out the ITV codes for ages but I never seemed to get around to it - I currently have more channels than I'm able to look at anyway so it didn't really bother me UNTIL NOW when MK 8) is involved.

I'll check it out again this evening when I get home & get back to you.

what do you mean,"aren't lucky enough to live in the UK"?????su're youre in the same boat as me,some English guys dont think that Scotland is in the UK either :o :o

BOOM BOOM  :P :P :P

Ha, well if Scotland wasn't in teh UK we might be going down the toilet with Ireland and Iceland right now.  ;)

The different ITV codes are sometimes handy for picking up football matches that are only being shown in certain parts of the country.

Alex Salmond would have you down the toilet and round the bend into the main shitter if you let him. Doesn't he think Iceland is a marvellous economic model for Scotland to follow? No offence Dusty, my MK mate.

Do these codes mean that i could get sky tv even in the California wasteland?

I live in a region that receives Tyne-Tees and also BBC North East very well, so if I remember and I am at home I will record the local news from both stations.   :)

Ha, none taken, anyone who knows me knows that I am no fan of Salmond. Unfortunately he is quite popular... at the moment. These things go round in circles, people will get fed up of him like they do with everybody else.

It hasn't happened yet, Marie.  The date of the presentation is February 6th, but I will still do my best to record the show if I am around that day.   :)

Well according to the article the event itself is happening on 6th February, so if there is a report it could either be on the news that night, or the day after, so keep an eye on Tyne Tees at 6pm on both the 6th and 7th.  :)
