Title: Prepaid Sim Card Help for Europe
Post by: BrianT on May 16, 2015, 12:49:25 AM
Its nearly time for my wife and I to set out to Europe from Canada.

We will be visiting Amsterdam, Oslo, Uppsala and Hamburg.

Need advice on prepaid sim card for my unlocked iPhone 4
Looking at Text, Data and a few phone calls
Where do I get the card, pick it up at Amsterdam or preorder order it
What card will work in all 4 countries. Help please.

Brian

I have no idea if there is one card to cover Europe.

But as for Sweden, this site would be of great help:

http://prepaid-data-sim-card.wikia.com/wiki/Sweden (http://prepaid-data-sim-card.wikia.com/wiki/Sweden)

"Travellers to or within Europe find a very confusing situation in 2015: every country has still its own national phone system. So data traffic is pretty cheap, if you are holding a SIM card of this specific country. Compared to that, inter-European roaming rates for data are still excessively expensive. This makes travelling very annoying: to get a decent rate for data, you may have to buy a new SIM card in every country you travel."

Cross EU-cards:

Hey Brian, I'm not sure if this helps you. But I got service through T-Mobile, and they have free international data (and I can stop my service at any time). I signed up but I will cancel after one month.  I tacked on international calling and text for $.10 a minute and $.10 the text respectively.  See you in Amsterdam!!  :D

You guys in the USA have always have good cell phone rates, in Canada we get fu*ked
my cheapest rate from my cell company Rogers is $10.00 per day for phone and text, no data.
I have ordered a prepaid Orange Spain sim card, lets hope it gets here on time.

Looking forward to seeing you and Ingrid in Amsterdam, are you in Amsterdam for the Sunday, as i'm on my own that day.
My wife is meeting up with a buddy from her home town in England and dumping me.

I just found out that Paul McCartney is playing at the Ziggo Dome on Sunday night, I have picked up 2 tickets for that show.
