Title: For those in British Columbia
Post by: knopfling on February 13, 2009, 04:18:13 AM
I ran across this news item that says MK is one of those featured in a filmed series of concerts for the Variety Club Telethon. Don't know if it is last summer's concert or something earlier, but thought someone from BC might want to check it out.

Here is the relevant paragraph:
The event is no longer a live-concert experience but rather a portal for some previously recorded concerts and performances from around the world. Featured this year is a telethon-launching Paul Simon, followed by Fashion Rocks 2008, Mark Knopfler, Josh Groban, illusionist Keith Barry, Cirque du Soleil's Midnight Sun and more.

Oh, too bad it wasn't something a little more interesting like a recent BC concert or something. Thanks for the information, Phil.

Yea,I got all excited thinking MK and the crew were coming over to perform live!!--friends and family were calling me to let me know had seen "Mark Knopfler was to appear at the Telethon in Vancouver"--never mind-it was nice to see "A Night in London"--I'm a patient fella,I can wait until next year.
