Susan Ashton feat Mark knopfler - If this was a dream
Never heard about this one!

In May 2014, I first heard about the session work of Mark Knopfler playing guitar on a track of Susan Ashton called If this was a dream. It was a promo only and released on at least two compilation albums, one of them called Die Schönsten Duette Der Welt which was released in 2010. It was also part of a very rare 6 track promo CD called "Jono Vrana original songs for films and soundtracks", see here for more information;

It is exciting that unknown colaborations come up from time to time!

Yep When you read in here about some collaboration, to be released at some point, you either forget it when its out, or do not buy an album from someone just because MK is one or two tracks. Now when someone makes such a YT channel its worth following. :thumbsup
When the JJ Cale thing came up I wrote it down to remember it ;), but MK just never seem to stop with these goldnuggets.

That's very true. The reason I think is due to the frequency with which Mark has appeared in collaborations in more recent years and also his contribution. These days he appears in so many that it's difficult to remember all of them whereas in the old days his appearances with other artists would be rare and therefore truly an exciting event.
His contribution is very variable too. Very seldom am I excited when I hear of a new collaboration now because it tends to be a minimal input and hardly worth even listening to.

The Susan Ashton track is very hard to find. I have seen it on every bootleg, and searched it on every possible auction site. Then gave up. At least it is here to listen:https://youtu.be/rOcKTKsX8lc
