Title: Mark's Pedalboard
Post by: neco on October 07, 2015, 08:53:19 PM
Hi everybody  ;)

Guy Fletcher showed Mark's Pedalboard in his forum today, and because I am not a guitar player, I know very little about that stuff. So, I'm very interested in what these 4 switches on the left side of the volume pedal are for. Any ideas what effects they do and in which songs Mark could have used them?

https://xotic.us/effects/rc-booster

Booster, boosts the guitar signal without adding distortion (in theory, may push the amp into overdrive).

Tremolo. He uses this on Seattle. First night RAH in 2013 it didn't work but MK said it didn't work.  :)

One from James Demeter I see! One of my favourite builders. Top shelf stuff, especially his amps.

I have the "Fuzzulator" pedal, a.k.a. the "Sonny Landreth in a box"-effect. And I've been meaning to get my hands on the "Tremulator" and now I have a perfectly good reason.

But the RC for boost? Oh Mark, you could do so much better...  ::)

Although I wonder where the Crowther Hot Cake went...

The vibe is probably a Fulltone Dejavibe, which I believe can be used as a chorus effect.

The Dejavibe was also visible on Mark's board during the last tour.

The Xotic booster is a very nice device indeed, it is also great to switch to a different sound (e.g. with more treble/bass/gain...) . I just added it to the online shop on my MK guitar site: http://mk-guitar.com/shop/xotic-booster-p-121.html

What is the effect used by Mark in Walk of life with his telecaster?

Probably just a bit of slap-back delay and reverb.

A lot of the sound on WoL is the guitar which is a Schecter Tele with F500T pickups a (very different to Fender Telecaster pickups) but the main effects are a bit of slap-back echo (delay) and a bit of reverb.

The F500T is the Strat pickup, the Tele pickups are called F520T (bridge) and F521T (neck). Don't want to appear pedantic hear, it is just to give the right names in case someone wants to google these.

Clones of these are available on my site  :wave : http://mk-guitar.com/shop/pickups-c-22_34.html
Mind that also the brass bridge and the aluminium pickguard contribute to this sound (also available on my site  ;) )
