Lately I've been listening to some of the younger Knopfler's music. And I find some of the songs really good! I was quite surprised, actually. Especially Madonna's Daughter, I think it is on the same level as some of MK's songs. Of course not his best, like MFN, BIA, SoS ++ but I think it is strange that David didn't become bigger. Especially compared to some of today's music artists that makes it big on no talent what so ever.
So, what do you think? A funny sight anyhow - Mark being "the strummer" for David this time!

It's all to do with exposure, selling yourself, promotion etc. Getting a free one hour advert on prime-time TV every week helps lots of talentless boy bands make millions. ::)

Now the whole music industry is about looks and selling an image. People can make it big over the night without the dedication and hard work that used to be essential. Must be weird for MK seeing those boybands lifted to the top of the charts without even making their music themselves

Talking about making it big overnight - just heard the X Factor winner completely ruining Dylan's "Forever Young" ! Give me any Dylan version or even the Dylan/Knopfler version from Hammersmith any day even though their voices were croaky!

David sounds like he's doing a bad impression of Mark. Was never going to work.
