Title: Rare Knopfler/Atkins signed guitar
Post by: JasonKnows on August 08, 2016, 08:29:26 AM
Greetings!!!

Back in the 90's I won a guitar from tower records. It was a Yamaha 335 copy from Japan 'Discovery'.

I'm curious if there is a market for the collector.

So I looked online and see guitars with MK's signature for like 800-1500.

Does $2000 sound unreasonable?

Is anyone interested in it?

Thanks!

I guess it's a wrong thread for the topic, but any pictures and all would be very helpful in estimating the value. Now it can be 'any'.

Thank you for the response, and sorry, I'm just a 'Guitar George'!

I posted the guitar on Facebook, I wanted to ask that community what they felt the guitar was worth.

Got an offer right away for $1500 from a friend of a friend who happens to be in town until tomorrow, seems like fate. I guess I'll take it, probably do the exchange this afternoon. I will consider additional offers, but being  in the SF bay area means I can hand it to you and avoid the shipping!

thanks! Again, looking at the discussion groups, should have probably put this in the eBay group but eeeew do I hate eBay.
