Belated - Happy Birthday BP. Had a couple of days at my sons place so no phone or computer for 2-days gives me time to untangle some of the knots that modern day pressures seem to tie my stomach into.
Hope your day was a good one. The story about making a date for social activities brings back memories from the time I was in your age group. Everyone seems to have something else planned as their family demands take more and more of their time. I am convinced that we as humans are drifting further and further apart as our own family becomes ever more important in harsh times and technology gives us an "Out" by being able to email stuff to each other...Haven't been to my Bro's for almost 12 years but send emails to each other every couple of days.

Like Ian, I can agree that making plans these days is almost impossible. Everyones calender is booked up for months in advance. We all live like idiots, doing too much, have too less time to enjoy the real important things.
A couple of weeks ago, we were invited for 3 parties at one night. That's crazy! You don't enjoy yourself this way either. Running from one to another, having no time at all.
@ Waterlineman: this time my handbag came back with me to Holland! :D
Don't worry, it's not about the irish. I like the irish and was unlucky that day last year. Actually I think the Irish are far more polite and nice than the average in Holland.

Hi Ingrid,
just to let you know, you were not alone in the stolen bag category,Mrs Waterline had her purse stolen out of her handbag while shopping in Dublin a while back so nationality is'nt taken into consideration by these people, its just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.It was all caught on CCTV but the woman was well gone by then :'( :'(
