Title: Leeds 78 concert (and bootleg), wrong dated?
Post by: Jules on August 26, 2016, 11:37:48 AM
We all know that Leeds 78 is the first soundboard recording, and the second recording as well, of a Dire Straits concerts and since the beguining it was dated as January 30 1978, as the posters says, and also the tour books of Dire Straits:

A friend of mine, who is probably in the top 5 of the biggest DS/MK/NHB collectors in the world, has a clipping about that concert, that states that the Leeds concert actually took place on February 6th 1978, like you will read in the attachment, so looks that the concert took place in other date, but it remains with the previous date...

they are not going to remember that exactly as is so long ago, and just one gig between so many gigs they played... I think that this poster and clipping points quite well to the real date of the Leeds concert...

I doubt any of the DS have something like it, specially for that tour dates... Maybe Ed Bicknell would had an itinenary for that but I doubt it as I recall in MKNEWS Ed sold many many many of that stuff  :(

The concert came on a tape cassette which was transfered to CD-R. This tape was labelled with January 30. I don't know if this was an 'original' to the tape or was added later.
