Title: Similarities between Allan Taylor and Knopfler songs
Post by: Guitarman1972 on December 13, 2016, 10:16:19 PM
Listening to the Allan Taylor album "Colour to the Moon" (2000) right now. Reminds me of some Knopfler songs. For example "Creole Girl" has similairities to Knopfler's song "Secondary Waltz" and the song "Whatever the Way" has similairities to "Devil Baby".

My favourite song of the album is "Wheels of Fortune". Though "Colour to the Moon" and "Kerouac's Dream" are nice too. For the people who like the folky stuff of Knopfler sure will appreciate this album.

That reminds me a lot of David Knopfler's 2001 album Wishbones or Ship of Dreams 2004. Very good, by the way!

It's possible that there is some resemblance between their songs, but I feel them in very different ways.
My favourite song from the album 'Colour to the Moon' is 'Scotty'. As it turned out, the music of this song was written by his son Barnaby.
And Allan doesn't play guitar there.
