Just read the really sad news that Rick Parfitt died today - he was 68. Another musician leaves us in 2016. :(

Damn, saw them live a few times, always an amazing show. Rip Rick..

Only one week to go.

Gutted to lose a hero of mine. I've always loved Status Quo, in fact I was listening to them before Dire Straits. The 3 chord myth is also ball shine and does them no justice. A fantastic band sadly no more.

Sixty-eight? OMG that's so early and sudden. Not a very healthy life as far as I'm concerned though... I just got drunk last night for the first time in 2016 at this corporate party and was thinking all the time — why I would do it every day? RIP Rick Parfitt.

Nothing to do with his lifestyle, an infection from a hospital after a shoulder injury. Very bad luck.

I think in general he had an unhealthy lifestyle though, lots of alcohol and Cocaine. Maybe didn't kill him directly but won't have helped fight a situation like this I'm sure. Anyway, RIP, saw them live twice and they were brilliant both times.

I find I'm quite upset about this. Rick was the rhythm powerhouse of Quo & just seemed indestructible, despite his numerous health issues.
R.I.P RIck.

In light of last nights announcement this statement now seems pretty weak.

RIP Rick Parfitt. I've always loved Status Quo and the song You're in the army now specially!!
