Pretty good report about MFN and some about the advent of CDs too. Then the reporter went to Guy's studio to recreate the MFN intro with John and Max Fletcher playing guitar. A little word with Neil Dorfsman too. No Mark.
Should be available on iPlayer maybe tomorrow. Episode 20th Feb. About 15-20mins in.

Just watching The One Show on BBC 1 and there is a short but interesting segment on Brothers In Arms and in particular the guitar riff on MFN. Guy and John are both on together with Guys son Max playing the guitar. Still a superb track after all these years !!

Thanks! I just watched it! It's available right now on iPlayer.

BBC iPlayer only works in the UK, I hope someone can upload to Youtube or something so the rest of us also can watch it :) :)

Don't wanna be mean but calling Max a guitar player is something of an overstatement ::)
The tone is pretty similar though.

It's more funny to me when a host said that nobody can play this, and everybody (Guy & John) echoed in agreement.
Of course Mark has a unique touch, but it's possible to play it damn close to the record. Not "nobody can play it".
Mark is a human after all. Nobody can write a song like this, that's what is really true in this situation :think

I didn't say Max couldn't play MFN like Mark, simply because nobody can. Perhaps he was nervous but what I meant was that, based on what he played in this video, he's not a good guitar player.
