I read / heard somewhere that Italy was excluded during the BIA tour for specific reasons. Does anyone know the reason behind that decision?

In my head it was something to do with promoters : maybe they fell out with someone on previous tours

Yes, it was something along these lines. The Italian promoters taking too much money or a falling out from the previous tour. Can't remember the exact details.

Thank you very much for the replies. With that, I searched into this forum and found out that the same question was asked in June 2011. Answer to that was; Cause an Italian promoter run away with cash of LOG tour in 1983.... so they don't want risk same thing again in 1985.....
And then added;
yes about LOG tour
and for the same reason they were paid in advance for the OES tour
Interesting I think. Would love to find a source/article where that is mentioned.

They were cheated by promoters about ticket sales: old Turin football stadium full (terraces and field) but official attendance was about 2/3 of terraces capacity. Bicknell said in an interview in 1990-91 that he was once intimidated with a gun, got threats about band safety and vehicles got damaged.
OES Italian dates contract was personally signed by MK because of past bad experiences

Makes me think about how many meatheads and fools Mark had ever met in his lifetime trying to steal his money, etc.
