Title: MK and classical music

yesterday I was listenigng to classical music in the car
I remembered that some years ago, on Guy's forum, someone mentionned Mascagnini's cavalleria rusticagna as being similar to Las exit to Brooklyn. Indeed it has some similarities, not necessarily in the melody, but in the ambiance, the mood if you know what I mean.
So when listenning to this track, I wasn't surprised

but some several tracks later, I came across Chopin's "tristesse" and a particluar melodic line reminded me very well last exit to Brooklyn :

Of course, I don't want to start a debate about influence, consciously or not etc...
It's just that it made me think of it

Thanks, JF!   Yes, I have always noticed the similarities between Last Exit and Cavalleria Rusticana, but now that you mention the line around 1'18 in Tristesse, I agree that it is similar too.   

I have Paul McCartney's "Standing Stone" and throughout the whole 76 minutes I recognise similarities to many classical composers' works - in fact it became "spot the composer"!   ;)

JF it definitely needs a musical ear to recognize these two or three notes in a piece like this. Really...
Chopin... makes you feel like a giant and so small the very same time. Tears of joy and of sadness and both are alright..
