I think the whole Basel concert disappeared a while ago. Strangely the Nîmes (September) show is still available though. I think DS Overseas owned the rights to the Basel show, maybe that's why.

Anything broadcasted by tv or radio was licensed by Dire Straits Overseas.

The credits are cut, the very last thing you see in the credits should be, as in Basel, Dire Straits Oversas, however, just at the beguining of the credits you can see this:

It's quite nonsense that Nimes is available and Basel is not... I don't know why. Maybe Basel was broacdasted by a different tv station that claimed copyright of the broadcast to youtube?
I heard that many MK related videos were deleted from youtube due to copyright when the official account was opened, I thought that might be the reason but it looks like totally random...

There is no legal issue as long as they don't use just "dire straits", if they add Legacy, Experience, Legends or whatever, is not the same name.

There is no legal issue as long as they don't use just "dire straits", if they add Legacy, Experience, Legends or whatever, is not the same name.
In the promo material, yes. However, they are announced as DS with a new lineup on TV shows, interviews and articles, and they never deny it. I have several examples from their gigs in Brazil. Marco even talks about being invited to replace Mark in the band in an interview.

Let's say you have kids with your wife, then you get divorced, she marries another guy and every time he's walking your children with your ex and someone assumes they are his he nods yes and talks about how great it is to be their father. Not acceptable.

Moderators, please, I need a clarification regarding rules.
Moaning about moaners about Mk is fines freedom of speech.
Moaning about moaners about DS legacy and others Ds tribute bands with ex members is being arrogant and allow other forumers to call arrogant to who moan about those moaners.
Am I right with this rule? Or I'm wrong?

This band that is touring the US has reached a new negative peak or lowpoint in it's behaviour. A Dutch newspaper reported online that "Dire Straits are touring without Mark Knopfler". Eddy had every right to point out to this and even gave you a great analogy with what he meant exactly. Especially your second "booooring" WAS rude. You killed his ambition to talk about this and his experience in Brazil with your "boring" and insinuated he would "moan". I called not you arrogant but said that your post came across so. Now in your question to the Moderators you insist in calling his post "moaning".

Everytime DSl go on tour and interviewed, being asking the SAME questions, giving the SAME answers, they reach new low levels of low point in their behaviour.... I'd like to see that scale to measure it because everytime they reach the lowest point and then the lowest and again the lowest... Wow. I'm amazed. And always telling the same thing, they reach a lowest point saying and doing the same...

That's a good question but it seems they DO reach many people or a US tour would not commencing.
It is only that they are not clear about it by purpose and maybe WANT people to believe they are the original band. I would not go. But I am sure Benny would. He seems to like them.

Joking aside, it would be interesting to find out their market. I would reckon it is a younger generation who have heard of DS but aren't heavyweight fans and haven't been to concerts of the real deal. I doubt Knopfler fans would attend these, except perhaps on their first tour, merely out of curiosity.

I always say that I enjoyed The Straits at the Rah, and I know about others that enjoyed them even they went with prejudice. In the end they just enjoyed the music.
By the way, I wasn't calling Eddie boring, but the topic, that comes again and again and always the same (like when we moan about Mk setlists), actually I find Eddy's post quite interesting, except this one's ;)
And also I like to discuss with LE. Man, sometimes I think you're Spanish or Latino, like Eddie and I, lol

Why do you feel the need to say that it's boring? Just ignore it no matter how often it comes up.
It's boring to me as well, but why not talk about it? It would be a lot better if there was nothing to talk about.

It seems we have to live with this or these Bands. So it will be a topic in the future for sure. MK could have done something against it in being more responsible with the Dire Straits heritage. But he left it alone and showed no interest in it. I said it once already but if you see what Queen fans get out of the history of the band in form of special Editions, boxsets, Blu-ray and stuff it is really sad to see this great band Dire Straits ending like this.

That's exactly what happens when we moan about Mk setlists. But for any unknown reason it doesn't work the same way you are telling with this topic. People moan about the moaners and tell it's boring and, it looks ok in that case...

Wow, that escalated pretty quickly. Just to make myself clear, my problem with these tribute bands is the fact they pretend to be what they aren't. I think it's a serious matter and wouldn't be surprised if Mark and John met to discuss it. Perhaps it is a boring subject but it doesn't change the fact that what they do is disgusting. Marco talking as if he was the new DS's frontman and pretending to be Mark's successor is actually painfully cringeworthy, I feel sorry for the dude, but using Mark's legacy to make money is just inappropriate.
