Title: National Duolian Guitar auctioned for £93,000
Post by: superval99 on March 14, 2019, 10:28:05 AM
This was mentioned on Look North this morning with a short clip of MK playing the guitar.  I wonder who bought it?   :think

Makes you wonder what Mark would get for his and whether or not he'll be thinking about taking the new one he used on the Ken Bruce Show on tour now.  :think

Pardon my ignorance but I take it he's using modern jobbies now and not the real deal.

I started thinking Mark was going down this route with the Gibson re-issues.  Can't see the original going on tour now.  I don't think it's necessarily a bad move as I loved the '84 re-issue used during BIA era.

National has made the "replicon" for many years now... A few years ago when I ordered a new national, the description mentioned Knopfler. It doesn't anymore. I ended up ordering a regular one as I figured it would age naturally well on its own.

I recall that but wasn't aware of his normal working practice regarding guitars and/or whether the auctioned guitars were ones he used on stage or merely ones collected over the years.
