Hi, all,
So I bought an MK strat a while back. Bought it second-hand, from Niels Onstenk, who won Best Guitarist of Holland, and won this strat + a personal meeting with MK.

Question: MK signed the strat, but the signature is waning due to sweat etc. Anyone know how to imprint this signature to preserve it better?
Another question: I think this strat might be the wrong colour, it just seems too dark to me...?

I think the only thing you can do is to avoid any further expose to sweat and other wear. I would put an electrostatic pickguard over it while playing, which you can easily apply and remove as often you want without damaging the signature.

Forget the signature... Why on Earth this Best Guitarist has even sold this precious item? I thought things like that stays with you till the end.
With that said, why you want to preserve the signature for? To boost up the resell value? I would just play on the guitar and won't bother.

Oooh a bit harsh there, speaking from the point of view with 3x MK Signatures myself....
I guess its different in the sense I obtained MKs signatures myself, not on my Strats but on the Fender certificates, but they are stored safely away to stop any damage.
But it would be nice to prevent further damage to the signature on the guitar..

I know I'm harsh (as always), but because I'm just not a fan of signing guitars, especially (!) on the front of the guitar. I would not give my guitar to Mark to sign it like that, because it's an instrument... But from a collector's point of view and from the resell value point of view of course it's a great investment. But otherwise, to me it's vandalizing the instrument. By famous hands, but still...
Signing the certificate is a lot better, same with Signature Les Pauls being signed on the back of the headstock. But this signature is... Meh.

100% agree, I'd rather have the 'real' signature behind the headstock and NOT on the body....At the time I met Mark I was glad I took the 3x Fender Tags for him to sign instead of the guitar itself...
Besides I wouldn't ever 'buy' a MK Signature because it wouldn't mean anything. I mean the three I have, I saw him sign them and they are my personal momento from that meeting...Of course I do purchase his signature - via the Tour Lithos!

If i remember correctly the guy who won the guitar and meet & greet wasn't really a fan of MK so i guess owning a MK strat given by the man himself isn't very valuable to him ??? :smack
