Indoor today, isn't it?
If I understood Guy's diary they are sleeping in Oslo these days so maybe they are not doing the usual running of the bulls to catch the plane...
Also tomorrow a day off. Let's see if at least someone in Norway can enjoy the full show, lol

Yes indoor. They have stayed at same hotel in Oslo since arrival.
Ålesund gig-->Oslo, Oslo-->Bergen gig, Bergen->-Oslo gig.. Oslo-->Stockholm..
Maybe the same hotel in Oslo is what forces them to do 15 songs... Right now I am prepared for the same in Stockholm as last time in Uppsala also had 15... But I am up for positive surprises :lol

Got my lito, nr 186. If any changes I will let you know!

But they are using their own systems again right?
In Bergen they shared equipment according to Guy:
"Sound check was extended as this was to be the first show of the tour without our traveling PA system. Often, we have to share local systems when playing these festival venues."

Better on stp

Hfoh!

Hfoh!
Please report if Silvertown is back and which one of BIA/PTTE is played. :thumbsup

Now that would be something!

Does this sound like back to 16 songs, with HFoH back?

was going to ask the same, I think same set as Bergen with Hfoh back...
Probably they had that margin to squeeze in ONE(!) more song and no airport tight schedule mess :lol
My turn next in Stockholm where I hope 16 is still the number of songs and that PTTE is replaced by BIA, but I don't want to have too high expectations.... We will simply see...
-
Same as Bergen with hfoh indeed
-
Did you like the concert?
-
Always emotional, regardless of what he plays, and very much so this time also.
Always an empty feel after a show, but hopefully I will see him again as the retirement seems to be dropped :lol I missed SB in the set, never been one for OES, very glad that HFOH was back, I sm one of those who loves the majority of the KTGC album. Sound was not top-notch for the first two songs and in general I thought that the trumpet was given too much «space» sort of speak. Could be toned a bit down.
All of you that has an upcoming concert surely has something to look forward too.
-
Great! I am happy that you enjoyed!

Forget about the number of songs. That is only “important” when you are sitting behind your laptop far away from the show. If you like Mark’s music you will have a good night anyway - even if he “only” plays 15 songs. Enjoy Stockholm :)

I enjoyed one 18 songs show and two 17 songs shows in Spain. These are full shows, lol.

I really do think they should play Golden Heart, it is such a beautiful song, and the guitar sound and tone Mark go from the A Night In London performance was wonderful.

I always thought it was a very boring song.
-
Really? I think it is a highlight from that show. His intro and solo are gorgeous.

Really? he's just repeating the main melody of the song ...
I always skip it in the record, and also in the live recordings. It bores me to death.

Me too. A certain snoozefest.

It is what I'd call a generic song. Probably took 10 minutes to write if you know what I mean (no disrespect meant), obvious melodic changes etc. Hell, I've written plenty like tat myself. Sometimes those kind of songs can actually take on a life of their own and become something more in the studio,
in the case of GH its a nice little progression on guitar, nice touch, marks 'blackbird' if you know what I mean. But never a classic...
-
Each to their own, I adore the song, I think it is one of Mark's best love songs. But the whole album is special for me.
-
I think Golden Heart is quite a nice song, not amazing, but nice. Mark's voice is horrible on it, and I can imagine someone with a good voice, Vince Gill for instance, would serve it a lot better.

Suffered from what I'd call 'classic Knopfler vocal drop out' if you know what I mean. Bet he could do it far more justice now....

I love Golden Heart too, especially live from Vaison.
