I was browsing youtube while on holidays last week and stumbled across this SOS cover.
Josh Smith is one of my favourite Guitarists. A good friend of Joe Bonamassa.
OK his singing is a matter of taste. But guitarwise he is one of the world's greatest I think.
Makes nearly no mistakes and has his technique. A lot of Blues and Jazz Feel.
He is touring a lot also in Europe. So maybe get and see him.
What do you think about it?

I like most of it but the guitar

He has the lyrics in front of his nose obviously and still does them not right... :smack

Lyrics are Lyrics. But the music?

Hey steinei I guess I am not the right one to judge.. To me this shred guys sound all the same plus Sultans had been covered FAR TOO often. Let others decide! :wave

It's ALWAYS nice to hear something different in MK/DS covers world instead of just repeating what Mark has already done.
If you love Steve Vai kind of music you'll love that Sultans cover, for me it's not exactly my cup of tea, too fast for me :think

I saw it on FB some days ago
at first I didn't like it. The first guitarist is too much shred for me
but the outro blew me away
even if I'm not into Vai/Satriani kind of music at all, that guitar duet sounds awesome

Oh dear!!! The singer is not great, he just can't seem to sing the song. The other guitar player played the twiddly bits in the first solo, why? that's the killer bit at the end, and as for the shred stuff, it just goes to show why Mark is unique, I can listen to that once, but listen to the Alchemy performance for example, all day long. It's just not for me.

That style of playing does nothing for me.
