There are some young guitarists strongly influenced by MK /DS like Henning Sernhede (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exmN7gF4p3E) or Daniel Hindmann (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGU2UO2gdck). Check them out, they're great!!
Wonder if MK knows of them, I doubt it.
I think, established musicians and legends like MK should support young artists much more to make them better known to a wider audience. Of course, they don't have to be musicians who sound similar to MK.
Clapton is a good example organizing his Crossroads Guitar festival regulary and here offering a platform for younger musicians.
Do you know of any MK activities going into that direction?
It would be fantastic when the "next generation Knopflers" could play as supporting acts on his tours (if there will be any in the future...).

There is new material from Swedish guitarist and songwriter Henning Sernhede. Probably a new ALbum is on the way... The Knopfler influence is so obvious, but he creates his own (groovy) sound and makes his guitar sing. Fine and fresh licks. Check it out, guys:

.... and also worth listening his live qualities:

Henning is really good indeed!

A new album out by Henning from Sweden called "Under träden" which has more pop elements than on the past albums.
Many Knopflerish guitar licks and sounds, especially on the last track.

This should be under Almost Straits, shouldn't it?
