I think they need to change the look of the website it's so KTGC-ish .Don't you think the same?
-
I think it will be done in September, when they will announce the tour dates.
-
The official website is expected with new Get Lucky colors soon. As far as I know they work on it.
-
It has new skin NOW http://www.markknopfler.com
-
And I must say: It looks great! At least the design people over there know what they do...

Whoooooaaaaaaooooo! That's bright!
-
looks bright, and like it.
but typical for the company taking care of it is the sloppy love for detail.
when you go to past tours it only shows the 2008 tour, and there only partially, for the usa it only shows one show! ....
why can pcm not create a decent informative fan information site like so many other artists clearly manage to do-???
-
I have one note only - too big website logo, it gets 1/2 of standard screen.
-
I don't want to lie myself but the design of the website is not that great.I have a bit experience in this field and I can surely tell this website is designed by some amateur people.First you can tell that by the glitch that happened before, second the "new" MK websites is pretty similar to the old one with just some minor changes really and three the guy who created the website is trying to get money indirectly from it(check search with Mark Knopfler at the bottom) .I think Mark deserves a better ,more dynamic website done the right way by some professional people.
-
Well, design is a matter of taste but functionality is a must for a new website. In a project you always need to have a test phase. So, why is the menu bar not working correctly on my Mac? Or am I the only one with double vision? I see tour, about, gallery, etc. twice and overlapping.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't drink at all! ;D
It is a cheap website IMHO. Sorry, Mark you could do better! Much better!
-
someone pass this one to guy or pcm?
you lucky by the way martina, as he replies to you but never to me.
don't like the man for now. only in it for the money. >:(

It seems to be okay on my Windows PC but I will make the test tomorrow when I'll be at my Mac at work ;D
But... Is it just me or is the Get Lucky banner at the very top NOT a high-res pic? It's blurry... It's not a big deal to get a high-res. You just need to d/l it from the press section of the official site... Oops ;D

We're talking about PCM here. They probably outsourced it to some company in India.

I do not understand what you talk about? PCM? The website is operated by The Official Community Company (based in Canada) on behalf of Mark Knopfler. This service is outsourced for MK. So they have to care about design and website, perhaps in accordance with agreement. I do not know about some company in India ;D but can say that previous KTGC design was more accurate.
Also just for info, I do not know - who has a responsibility to care about webnames. Anybody (from PCM or Official Community?) missed the mark-knopfler.com webname 1 year ago and it is used by some spammer now. There a lot of strange events - for example 2 years the webname direstraits.com has been back to Mark own by court's decision. The main question is - does MK need the direstraits.com webname (and direstraits.de too)?

Well, there you go. I'm sure "The Official Community Company" created the whole thing as cheaply as possible. No doubt all part of the marketing ploy for Mark Knopfler Inc.
At the same time, it's better than no website at all.

FYI Martina, I'm at my Mac at work right now and the mk.com site works fine ???

We should also try a C 64, maybe it works there!

No problem here with Vista. I know you are a webdesigner but maybe there is a problem with the browser you are using?

I'm in the office at SAP in Feltham/London at the mo and got the same with my Mac at home yesterday. But we always do the latest software. I'm not a webdesigner. I'm a web developer and doing internet security projects.
The same bug on IE7+8 for Vista and on Safari 4 for Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

Which browser and version do you use? Firefox?
-
No I use Opera. I tried with Firefox and thats allright here too.
BTW I just posted the first tour date for Amsterdam in the 2010 tour section.
-
I use Safari at work and Firefox and IE at home... I tested them all, the site seems to work fine with me.
-
I just had a look at the mk.com forum to see if there was any info on the tour (I'm not a member there).
I was there for about a minute and got a headache. Eurgh. White on red is NOT a good layout.
-

-
28/06/10 apparently. Not confirmed though.
A forum member from the official site.

I hope they let us know asap, because last time they added an extra date after i'd already booked flights.
Luckily it all worked out ok. (Thanks to Ingrid)! ;)

Not a lot of dates yet. One in Portugal, so far, none in Spain or Italy. This HAS to be only a partial list. UK is pretty filled in though. Yea for you guys.
