Hopefully part of a series.

Great! Always liked Kingdom Come.
It's available on Tidal too, even in Master quality, which none of the other DS albums are.
-
Saw this too, just don't get why?
it could be related to DS royalties investment as Comfort and Joy soundtrack does.. :think

Sound recording royalties rights of the songs listed in that site were sold by Ed Bicknell to create the investment fund and Spotify (and all the others) pays to sound recording rightsholders 6 times more than to composition rightsholders

If you have some euros, you can buy DS rights and get benefits...
Bicknell sold their part of DS royalties and looks like who bought it wants to get benefits of it as well.

I wonder how you can get benefits from the Charles and Di documentary songs or Battling for England unreleased song... They are listed there but they are not released in any way that can produce any income...

Just seen the final Oz show from BIA tour released on Amazon music. Who releases this stuff?

I’m not complaining but just wondered who makes the money from people downloading it. Obviously not MK. Good job he’s stinking rich. Not so good for new artists.

Yes, the Artist gets a small percentage of earnings in most cases if it's not the crowdfunding platform of some sorts. I remember putting my work on Shutterstock and other stock photos websites, and even though you took the picture (or shot the video), you edited it, you trimmed it, uploaded it, named it, provided it with proper tags and stuff, Shutterstock shamelessly takes 70% of royalties. Unbelievable numbers for when you do 99% of the work. But they need to keep their Empire State Building office up I guess.
Generally speaking, numbers from all these publishing platforms are so low you might as well just ignore it or put "the earnings" in your piggy bank.

I remember that someone posted the info here when they were still on sale. You missed probably it.
I remember asking myself if I should buy a small symbolic share
But money calls for money, and to get ROI you need to invest a lot. Small invest generally turns into being eaten by the fees you have to support, and it would have costed me way more than I invested even if the aim was not to be a millionaire from it... I don't remember who said "the best way not to loose money is to be profitable" or "benefits are addition, deficits are multiplication".

Nice!

The music is good on these tracks but the lyrics are not-very-funny jokes and it right that they are relegated to B-Sides.
My Parties should have gone that way too...

do not agree, always loved millionaire blues, like the humor of it. guess humor is very subjective?

Not really clever enough to stand up to repeated listenings, unlike, say, MFN which is a funny song.

Hopefully Extended Dance Play will be next for Spotify :)

Well. Yeah. Ha-ha. It's not up there among the best, for sure. But the corny quirkiness is rather lovely. Love that he sings in his Geordie accent.

I remember when I heard the extended version on the "you and your friend" cd single, I was very surprised aas I only knew the version on the B-side of the Private and industrial disease singles...
I wonder which version are they uploading.

I always thought of it as a follow up to MFN with The Bug being a follow up song to WOL. Maybe just me.

Oh, you were talking about Heavy Fuel. I meant Badgers. No, HF is certainly not a gem to me. One of my least liked DS songs.

Really? Had no idea. That makes it even funnier.
Edit: After listening to several clips of Geordie Yorkshire accents, it's pretty clear it's Yorkshire. Love it. Mark's really good at doing accents.

He is actually! Well he spent a lot of time in Leeds (Yorkshire) and with Steve Phillips so a Yorkshire accent should come easily. He did a Welsh accent during that Brian Johnson interview and was pretty funny. I'd be told by a Welsh person no doubt there are many regional variations but to me it was a typical "Welsh" accent. Maybe years spent with Terry Williams and Geriant Watkins have rubbed off. Whenever I try a Welsh accent I slip into an Indian one somehow!
Yes, Badges is very much a Yorkshire accent. I always wonder what people from Gods Own Country think about that with Mark being an outsider so-to-speak.

Definitely a Yorkshire accent and I should know, because I live there! There are many Yorkshire accents, depending on where you live - some are a bit rough and others are really lovely and soft, but I would say MK's Yorkshire accent is a Leeds one. I have lived in Leeds for many years and still don't have one, just my original Liverpool twang, although watered down a bit now! ;D I agree that MK is very good at accents.
BTW I love Badges. It makes me laugh a lot!

I downloaded KTGC from Amazon music and it has Boom Like That Live From Denver as the last track. Am I going mad or has this never beed released before.

If I am correct it was first a b-side from the single True love will never fade and later a digital download bonustrack for iTunes with the KTGC album

Yes thanks, alot better and yesterday was the last day of isolation as one of the kids showed symptoms 7 days ago.

Looks like the next release is Tunnel of Love parts one and two. Presume nothing new here but interested to see how they split the song as I don't own the single.
Grateful for these releases, ultimately hope for something unreleased to crop up but let's see. All good.so far !

They cut the song by the guitar solo and that's where it starts the part 2 if I remember well when I played the single...
-
On FB there is a link to preview the part 2 and that starts with:
And now I'm searching through these carousels and the carnival arcades
Searching everywhere from steeplechase to palisades
In any shooting gallery where promises are made
To rock away, rock away
Rock away, rock away
-
Yes, the final solo. I didn't remember it had singing part.
It's strange what they did cutting the track in two.

For those who didn’t know the Knebworth 1990 event double album with highlights from the show including 2 Dire Straits songs I Think I love you too much and Money For Nothing is also on Spotify

All this stuff is coming out on Amazon music as well. They released a radio broadcast of Clapton in Tokyo in ‘88 with Elton John and MK. It’s got a good version of solid rock on it.
-
I also saw that Live Aid was on Spotify :)

Funny today on the FB of Dire Straits they announced on may 1st on the streaming services the single Sultans of Swing with the Eastbound Train Live 1977 as b-side. So the b-side is already online
-
But it is the original single version of SOS in good quality, that one wasnt online before as far as i know. Only on youtube or so. Pretty cool!
-
Yes, really great.
It would be fantastic if they release the Honky Tonk Demos too, that only existe on vinyl and incomplete.
-
It's great that they are doing the rereleases and they are in such good quality. I'm not familiar with the single version of Sultans, and really like Picks drumming at the end of the song which is totally different from the album version. Keep them coming please !

Yes, Pick at the end plays a tambourine, same than in the demos. I don't know why they didn't the tambourine in the record.

No single announcement on Spotify this week. They have been every two weeks for the past releases
Wonder if that is all for now ?
