>:( :( Just found out today that Get Lucky will not be released in South Australia's 2 major music chains JB-HI FI and Sanity music. "It doesn't show up on their systems" at least, and I was told by both stores that any new release would show up 1 month prior to its release date.
Fletch? Have you heard any different from Sydney?

I will check in my local JB HiFi, they are the best music shop around - for value and stock and service - so i`ll be very surprised if they say `No MK`!!! ???

I wouldn`t panic though, you know what computer databases are like!

Ok i phoned our local branch and yes its not on the system but, "we`ll get it from the US distributer Warners - give us a call in a week...."
I asked about the dvd version and he said they most likely will get some, saying that the distributer is one of their biggest. So no promises, but i`d say closer they`d know closer to release date. ???

:) Thanks Fletch. I was a bit worried that we might have been over-looked like we are with the tours since 2005. It would be hard to understand how the artist with the longest run of nights in Sydney ever and the 2nd biggest (still) crowd at a concert in Adelaide could be miss out on having his next CD, available direct in Australia. ::)

Yeah, that would be odd! Interestingly my local JB has every solo Knopfler disc going around - and i`ve never bought one! :) I will get this DVD version of Get Lucky, mostly so i can watch Guy be polite.... ::)
Are you flying away to Europe this summer to catch MK? In a few years, when the kids are older, i intend to parcel up some sort of European adventure with a Knopfler tour. Well thats the dream, but we`ll see i suppose.

:) ;) I'd love to go Fletch, but I have a few health issues that prevent long trips. So unless Mark heads south again soon I will probably never see him again! :(
Then again, if I win the Lotto this week I could book a cruise from Aus. leaving in early February and be in London by May. :D

:) ;) Fletch I spoke to the people at Sanity again yesterday and the lass looked it up and said it was on a part of the system and if all went to plan the standard CD would sell for A$30 and the Bonus edition (DVD &CD) would sell for $35. Both, according to her available from this coming Thursday....September 11. Don't like the negative connotations to the release date, so I'm not holding my breathe just yet....

:) Many thanks for the offer Marie. Emily has made the same generous offer, but I am more confident since my chat with the lass at or local Sanity Music store (which is closing on the 17th - hope the poor lass has another job to go to) on Sunday, that we will be able to buy it here. An early release is also a possibility. Also she mentioned the 11th as the listed release date here. She was unable to confirm if stock would arrive by then. Or at all for that matter, so fingers crossed.
Fletch. Marie is one of the lovely people I told you about who have given me much more than has gone back the other way. If you check the editors names in the members section along with several other members, you'll see a mob of great blokes and shielas who's generosity has spread down here to our neck of the woods. They are the reason I was able to get those couple of little things to you a while back.

My God thats on Friday!!!! How is this possible before the official release date elsewhere?
I went to JB today to ogle at the Beatles boxes (mine is on its way from US Amazon) & i bought Bobs Together Through Life cd. Fantastic record, i`m really enjoying his singing and these days. He sounds like a grizzled 30s bluesman from the delta!!!

You know if Australia music stores didn't actually stock the album...as a MK fan you would have to "get lucky" just to live in a country that sells an album called "Get Lucky". That's too funny. :P

Its supposed to be in today - but my store hasn`t received its stock! :'( they have promised to call me, the minute its in!!! ;D

:) ;) Hi Fletch. Thanks for the info. As soon as I read your post I rang my Local JB store, and the music guy said that the stocks had just arrived in-store, as we spoke. When I tried to clarify the versions, he said the standard (CD only) was $19.99 and he (thought) the CD/DVD version would be $25. Said they would be unpacked and in the store proper in 1-2 hours. :D ;)

Yikes. I just got a notice from amazon that my big fancy expensive version would not be shipped until Sept 21. Now what kind of a crappy deal is that?
