If you look at the date it could be the last show from the Get Lucky tour.

On Guy forum we can read : "Rockhal Luxembourg sent me an e-mail notifying me of Mark Knopfler performing on June 8th" and "Ticket sales from September 3d on Markknopfler.com".
But...that's tomorrow!

This is the Canadian boys at mk.com that we're talking about ::) ::) ::)

OMG, mk.com: Please Note: Our store is NOT compatible with Safari for Mac, but will work with all other browsers.
-
Oooooh can't wait!!! The shows will probably be sold out in 3 seconds!!! It's a shame btw that in the Netherlands, we don't have post offices anymore (yes, they are closed, they don't exist in our country). I
-
damn....and my sisters friend does PR at Vorst Nationaal in Brussels, and exactly today did they go to Canada for friggin three weeks...need backstage...need front row sister!!!

Uh, it worked very well with Safari on the Mac in my office... BUT of course that does NOT mean there couldn't be another big fat bug! :o :o
Seriously, I'm a little scared concerning the presale... If this goes wrong and I end up with tix for row 100 then I swear I'm gonna find out where PC lives and go kick his butt!!
EDIT: Oh, now I see what you meant Martina. There really is a note on the actual site! Well that's quite impudent!! MK.com hates people with Macs and without credit cards!
-
From Facebook:
Dates for Mark's Get Lucky tour are firming up and we're happy to announce that MarkKnopfler.com will be having a members-only best seats ticket presale this week for several new dates. Make sure you're signed up to the Mailing List for the full announcement.
If you aren't already a member, it costs nothing to join and we always respect your privacy. Sign into your account just before the start of the presale for your chance at the best seats in the house.
-
So... You can only order tix from MK.com if you have a credit card, right? I don't have one (for the simple reason that I don't have a steady income yet and know I couldn't resist the temptation to use that piece of plastic more than I should - huh, that sounds like MK talking about guitar picks!) but I don't want to bother others with ordering half a dozen tix for me... Why don't they offer PayPal as an option? I have remarked this months ago at MKNews but as usual, nobody listened... Probably because the techno monkeys from Canada would be overstrained?
I'm so anxious and nervous and afraid it could all go wrong! Sorry for panicking but I can't help it :'(
EDIT: And oh yeah, even if I had a credit card I couldn't order tix from my office in case the presale starts at a day where I'm working at my Mac (Monday or Wednesday)! Someone please give me some medication to calm my nerves!!!
-
Well, Miriam, I understand your problem. I also think it is all a matter of maximum two minutes and the best seats are gone. So one has to be wide awake.
But on the other hand, I remember 2008: After nearly selling my Munich ticket, I made other plans and tried to get a ticket very late, I think it was April, the tour was already running. And Joko contacted me from Munich and I had two really great tickets for me and my sister, for face value of course.
So, if something, this forum is great to get tickets even later that year.
I will try to go to Hamburg, I could get you one if possible. However, I cannot guarantee a seat in the first row. Tell me if you are interested in HH and also interested to be seated nearby Love Expresso ;D

For the medication I can really recommend Dr. House! ;D
Pre-sale of MK - :)
But House Premiere Season 6 on Sept 21 - :P :o !!!
-
Probably because the techno monkeys from Canada would be overstrained?
I'm so anxious and nervous and afraid it could all go wrong! Sorry for panicking but I can't help it :'(
Hopefully the site's robust enough to handle the requests! ??? And the currencies! 8)
-
Oh yes Martina, some vicodin and I will feel all warm and fuzzy inside and won't give a damn about the whole mess ;D
I'm much more looking forward to the Season 6 premiere right now than to the presale.
LE, I'd LOVE to come to Hamburg again and take up on your offer, thanks a lot! I also have no problems with trying to get some tickets later on, last year Mannheim and Cologne were spontaneous decisions, too. BUT I need good seats for Frankfurt at least as my parents will be joining me. That's three tickets and I don't want to get row 20 just because I'm in the without-a-credit-card minority or sitting on a Mac on the wrong day of the week, that's plain ridiculous :'(
-
Just a quick question re Amsterdam?
I'm hoping to go to Amsterdam again next year, but last year they initially only released 1 night , so Ingrid was kind enough to get me a tix, then a few days later they released another date, which caused some problems. Luckily i was able to change my plans, and the extra date actually turned out to be the very 1st gig on the tour, so i was lucky enough to go to both.
Any idea if there is only going to be 1 night this time?
If there is, i hope that Rotterdam will be straight after, because then i can stay in Holland an extra night. Make more of a trip for me.
Also, surely with the Amsterdam pre-sale, it's not as much of a hurry to book, because it is standing only with no reserved seating.
REMEMBER THE SPRINT TO THE STAGE. ;D ;D ;D
Cheers BBB
-
For some venues I don't understand the idea of presale for the best seats... HMH in Amsterdam is "run as fast as you can" to be in the first row. Anyway, as I bought the deluxe edition, I don't have any money to buy the first tickets. Maybe at the end of September! ;D ;D ;D
-
Ordering through MK.com works for me, for Berkeley and Portland. Oddly, I have much better luck ordering directly from the Britt Festival organization in Jacksonville. That works if you have a membership with them. I'm just looking forward so eagerly for the USA dats. Um, have I said that already?
-
What Is Box Office Collection?
Tickets for this event are to be picked up at the Box Office ON THE NIGHT OF THE SHOW ONLY. Most venues offer what is called "Box Office Collection" which means you can pick up tickets right at the venue prior to the show. If the event indicates "Box Office Collection", then rest assured that your tickets will be waiting for you at the venue

I get a headache whenever I think of that presale thing. Everything seems so simple but it is NOT if you don't have a friggin' credit card or, on a more shallow side, use the wrong computer (a Mac)! It sucks big time! I just want to have three very good seats for Frankfurt, Germany. The rest I don't care.
A part of me just hopes the German presale will be handled differently. I'd even prefer silly vouchers. How sad is that?
If I don't get my good seats, hell will break loose. In that case I swear I'm gonna post something really nasty over at MKNews.
(Uh-oh, time for my medication again...)

Yepp, I'm totally with you on that as I'm just to finish my studies and I don't see a need for stupid plastic money. Call me old-fashioned, but in these times you can't be careful enough. The years of plenty have passed.

Ok i empathise about the credit card - but i ordered my presale tix using my MAC and thw hole process was seamless - why were you having problems with the most stable operating system in the world......?????? ;D ;)

But it looks like they don't know anyway what's working or not...hopefully they handle our credit card details with more care!!! :-[

They are announcing new dates very closely to the presale date. If you are out even a day or two you have almost no time to put a b plan and put you under stress.
Hot hot hot!

the credit card details mentioning actually scares me.
i am being carefull in all my personal details, but do they??
-
I wrote an e-mail to them telling that my creditcard expires 11/09 so I will not have it anymore by that time. They didn't answer me.
Is it allowed/legal to them to share creditcardnumber with the people at the door of the venues?

But you'll get a new credit card before it expires with the same number on it, don't you? So it's basically the same card only with a new expiration date. Had that before, no problem.

Ive had similar issues in the past - when my debit card gets replaced with a new card - the number is different - as well as the expiry date - luckily this one expires in 2012!! ;)

See, it's a matter of principle. IMO it's really arrogant to assume everyone has a steady income and a piece of plastic. Every fan should have equal chances to enjoy the presale, credit card or not, PC or Mac. As I mentioned earlier, I suggested to offer PayPal as an option but - you guess - no reply. This is impudent and arrogant to no extend. I still hope the German presale will not be handled over MK.com. Otherwise I really don't know what to do.

Quote Nigel: "Also, surely with the Amsterdam pre-sale, it's not as much of a hurry to book, because it is standing only with no reserved seating.

Haha Nigel, I will be practising this time and try to have the best condition to be the fastest at the front of the stage! ;D
Miriam, I understand how you feel! It must be terrible sitting here and not being able to order tickets. I had problems the first time I used it and lucky Ingrid helped me to order for the concerts of 2008. Last week Ingrid gave me advice to control my address etc before the date of ordering. This time it went quick and I didn't have troubles! ;D
To all the people who will be in Amsterdam. I didn't order a ticket yet, because I hope Mark will be there on Sunday June 27th .....BUT I saw today he will be playing in Prague Saturday June 26th!!! I am not sure if it will be possible for the people who build stages etc to "clean" the stage after the concert, put everything in the trucks then drive a long distance of about 950km to Amsterdam and build everything up again for the concert in the HMH that Sunday evening........Of course the people will and can work terrible hard and know what to do, but I am hesitating now and not sure IF there is a possiblity for a concert that Sunday..........What do you all think??? ::)

Let me know if you need help to order for the German shows. You can pay me back via Paypal then...
-
Well, Goldenheart, your post at MKNews from today and the two following ones are the best way to get the whole thread deleted, probably... ;D
Honestly, I think it is a German problem. People in the US, Canada, and I think also in the UK use a lot more credit cards than us Germans. In this case
it seems we drag behind a little bit... But I think it is ok, as long as you are able to get what you want otherwise, and paypal seems to be a perfect option. (Just remember how easy it was to get Inamorata f.e., that was my first time to use paypal). So I can fully understand you going ballistic.
But I am sure you will get your tickets. What else are forumers good for? 8)

ouch val.
if that don't ban your bum over there, i don't know what will. you have now openly defied the powers that were!

Thanks a lot Martina, I will come back to that offer :)
LE, I think you're right about the credit card use in other countries. And maybe I will see things differently with a steady job etc but in my position right now I think it's just unfair to ignore "minorities" if you will. And I really don't know what's so difficult with PayPal...
Hehe, nice replies over there guys and girls. I almost feel a little sorry (but only almost!) but I really needed to vent my anger. Wonder what will happen ;D
-
He, he, but how about getting a debet card like VISA? All you need is a bank account with money on it. And you can buy concert tickets over at mk.com with them. You get all the fun and a pin code, but no expencive credit.
-
Guess what! The posts have been deleted! ;D
-
Yes, but to be fair, Terry at least made a statement directed to Goldenheart

Yes, but with such strict rules, he seems oblivious to the fact that he is losing most of his forum members and without members he has no forum! :)

True, of course! :)

Surprise,surprise ::)
Are you blacklisted Val :o

mine got deleted too? didn't do anything, at all...

Well, at least TK replied to my post. Not that it'll change anything about the core problem, but still... And he didn't edit out my comment about the Canadian techno monkeys. Do I detect a hidden sense of self-criticism? ;D
-
Quote LE: "Honestly, I think it is a German problem. People in the US, Canada, and I think also in the UK use a lot more credit cards than us Germans."
You might be right about that LE! ;) Except business people and those who need credit cards for their job, I think that people with normal jobs don't use their credit card often. I have one and only use it for our vacations abroad. ;D
Mossguitar I think we have that kind of credit cards in my country also. You first have to put an amount on your card and then you can use it! IF we have them, then you should be able to get one in Germany also Miriam, BUT I am not sure if MK.com will allow one like that! ::)
Quote Waterline Man: "Are you blacklisted Val!" :o
What ???......You mean our decent, nice, honest, sweet Val might be blacklisted?? :o....... Naaahhhhh that can't be true! :o ;D

guy replied to a question about hte belgian show.
apparantly it will be Vorst Nationaal again. no date though. i am there!!!!!

Yes, MK.com allows VISA. All of my MK tickets is payed with my VISA card. In Norway mostly old people use money. The others use plastic. Not credit cards, but debet cards (VISA). I've had one since 1990 and pay everything with it, abroad too. It's linked to you bank account, but instead of taking money out of the bank, you draw the card, enter your pin code, and voilla!, the right amount is drawn from your account. And when (or if) the account is empty, you can't pay with the card. Full control, no risk of building a dept. And safe. If you money get stolen, you loose them. If your card gets stolen, you get a new one. You use it in shops, internet stores, though pay pal, petrol stations, parking lots, busses, trains, restaurants, mini banks etc. I really thought these were common in all countries.

At www.eventim.nl if you search for Mark Knopfler there is an event in Germany. Too bad it has no date yet but it will come shortly I think.

Thanks for the information; maybe I'm a little retarded or maybe it's simply because as a student I've never really cared about credit cards and stuff because they always seemed like a little "danger" for me - but I've never heard of that debit card thing. I will gather some infos and see if it's suitable for me. Still, I don't like MK.com's attitude towards different payment methods.

This Friday the normal sale of MK-tix for Amsterdam will go on. I will follow it and if they announce an extra date I will post immediately

That's GREAT Ingrid. I hope they do add an extra date. It will make my trip even more worthwhile. :)
Cheers BBB

Got my ticket! :D ;D
-
Congrats Jeroen and Dutchessy!
Call me a fool, but I still didn't order tickets yet for Amsterdam! :o I hope he will play twice in our country! Last year he was here 3 times, so it can't be that he will be here only for one day now! :o Besides, last time tickets were sold for the Sunday (kick-off) and then a little while later we could buy tickets for the Saturday! Lucky at that time Ingrid could use my tickets and bought news ones for the Saturday evening and we both could exchange! ;D
Now I really hope he will be here on Sunday and IF not then I hope there still will be tickets available for the Monday evening. ;) It's not sure if I am right with that, but hey sometimes you need to gamble and who knows I might GET LUCKY! ;D

I don't have a ticket (yet) for amsterdam. In two weeks I'll buy one. And of course, I doubt there will be only one gig in the Netherlands. I don't know how they want to fill the gaps in between as they play from may until july...
-
Guy said on it's forum... It looks like HMH
And Saturday and Sunday = K3 in ahoy... Maybe HMH on Sunday or Tuesday...
No Ahoy this time i think
-
I suppose they try to fill every gig for at least 90%. If it's sold out very quick, they might add another day to it. One night completely sold out is cheaper than two nights of 50% audience...
-
Just ordered my ticket for A'dam ;D
It's going to be a long wait till the end of June though :(
-
No Ahoy, they are rebuilding if I am well informed
But only one gig in A'dam is impossible, never happened only one gig in Holland I think
-
guy said no rotterdam
-
K3 is @ Ahoy that saturday and sunday...
-
Yeah yeah essy, we know you like K3. ;) ;D But it's the Mark Knopfler forum here! ;D ;D ;D I guess tuesday will be added, maybe wednesday with a day in between. Maybe another gig at the Rodahal in Kerkrade, it's nearly my back yard. But I guess that's wishful thinking. :-X
