Title: Mark's first wife
Post by: JF on October 14, 2020, 03:34:13 PM
english wiki says that Mark's first wife was named Kathy White

french wiki that she was named Katleen Urwin

I guess english wiki is right. Can anyone confirm ?

another question :
english wiki says that Kathy was "his long-time girlfriend from school days"

and in the oldfield's book, David explains that Down in the waterline is bout Mark and his girlfriend. do you think it's the same person ?
it would means that waterline, water of love, setting me up and six blade knife are all about Kathy

I ask this because I am writing a chronicle about the song Romeo and Juliet, and as an introduction I am talking about Mark's different wifes, and relatives songs

thanks in advance

I believe it was Kathy White.
Romeo and Juliet is about Holly Vincent (as is Hand in Hand and, I believe, It Never Rains).

yes of course I know Romeo is about Holly, like LOG and INR

but I have doubt about songs like waterline and wild west end : are they about Kathy or about another person ?  was Kathy is girlfriend during school days ?

Was Sue hercombe just a "musical friend" or was she his girlfriend too ?

I don’t know. It was a long time ago, but I remember that Mike Old field’s book mentioned the Holly Vincent triology as being R&J, Hand in Hand and LoG whereas I always thought of It Never Rains as the angry companion to them.

I stand corrected. I suppose it was the other way around, then: I felt that Hand in Hand was another one of them.

The Myles Palmer book says MK married Kathleen Urwin White on 4th March 1972. She was the daughter of a northumbrian farmer. Is her Dad the subject of Yon Two Crows?

Should be Yon Two Cows.
