Wow, another long interview of a great guy and musician who is also close to Mark Knopfler.
I am really looking forward to hear Glenn Worf`s stories.
Thanks for sharing, Pavel! :wave

What inspirational interviews these are, it's crazy nobody had this idea before, the guys are simply amazing, both Glenn And Richard. So many stories, so many wise words, really get me. Glenn is less inclined to straight up placing MK at the top of everything, but who cares? His wisdom is over the top.
UPD: Nope, he's also put MK at #1 of all places :thumbsup

— Everybody gets a shot, the question is whether you are ready for it when your opportunity comes.
Glenn was quoting MK here.

I listened to the whole of this interview today and, just like Richard, Glenn is such a lovely person. Towards the end he did talk about joining Mark and the band as being one of the greatest things he ever did. It made me smile when he said that Knopfler was the only artist he knew who had the courage to go out and not play all of his greatest hits! ;D

About half way through the Richard one. Sporadically watching bits during washing and drying up and whole cutting and laminating bits for work.
Will work through the Worf one soon.
It won’t happen as he’s not primarily a guitarist but an interview of this length with Guy would be good.....as long as he doesn’t talk about microphones and tape too much!

What an amazing musician, Ioved every line of his playing since day 1, every time Mark releases an album, I'm looking forward to listening to Glenn's playing, it is so subtle and powerful at the same time, he is able to improvise and bring out bass lines from another planet.

2:17:54 - Did he say they put Sultans of Swing back in the set in 2019? :hmm

Yes, he did! I was scratching my head about that too! :hmm

Could he have meant a previous tour? Did that happen?

Nope, he clearly says: "We actually put that one back in the set last year"
Very strange remark.

Surely, only the last tour Mark finally (sorry folks) dropped Sultans. I thought maybe they rehearsed it for 2019 tour and just wouldn't play it, and because of that Glenn remembers it being brought back in the set?

Yes, I heard what he said, but maybe he mixed it up with another tour. Or maybe another song?

Richard just got mixed up I think, they brought it back in 2015 after it being dropped part way through 2015 I think?

You mean 2013? In 2015 it was played at every show.
I think Glenn mistook Sultans for MFN

For some reason I really laughed at this line in the interview about Glenn meeting Mark: "We finished the first set, and I'm walking into men's room, and I see this hand stuck out of the rows of bar stools, and the hand is attached to Mark Knopfler..."
