When you see "The Unforgiven" again long after you saw it as a kid, and you hear Lilian Gish playing the melody of "Oklahoma Ponies" on the piano, you think that Mark is definitely everywhere! 😁😅
Well actually, we all know that "Oklahoma Ponies" is inspired by a traditional tune, so nothing surprising to hear it in a 1960 western.
Very nice film by the way, disowned by Huston who thought he didn't get his anti-racism and anti-bigotry message across enough.

ah yes The Eastwood one is also a masterpiece
this one is an "old" western. I saw it when I was a kid, and saw it again yesterday (I had recorded it on TV some months ago)
and of course Lilian Gish is a movie star from first times of Hollywood back in 1910's years on Griffith's films
I didn't found the scene on YT, but at a moment the family is around the table and the mother (Lilian Gish) plays a tune a piano and I recognized the melody from Oklahoma Ponies, so I guess it was the original traditional tune
