One of the best Bass Players left our world yesterday. :'(
RIP Michael
He was one of Richard Bennett's best friends, played most tunes on Golden Heart,
he alternated every year with Glenn Worf as the Best Player in the Country Scene and was Joe
Bonamassa's Bass player from 2014 to 2020. I have seen him several times live on stage.
e.g. on my probably best concert ever. JB live in Kassel at the beautiful Orangerie in 2016.
He will be sadly missed

Sad.
He was a fantastic bass player. I particularly liked him with the group The Players (Brent Mason, Paul Franklin, etc.) and the trio work with Guthrie Trapp (amazing guitarist) and a drummer I can't remember the name of.
I just read that he had been fighting pancreatic cancer.

Yesterday we learned of the passing of a friend, the great bass player Michael Rhodes, on March 4th. I’m proud to have known and recorded with him.
Thinking of you Michael. May you rest in peace– MK

I too have heard/seen Michael play Live with JB of course and am like most people who were fans of his playing very sad to learn of his passing....
I think the quote from JB sums the situation up for me
'Rest in Peace my friend. I can't even get my head around this right now'
As for JB it's only two months until I see him LIVE again!!!

You lucky one.
Cannot reach Joe this time as he plays the nearest show 3 hours drive away from my hometown which never happened before.
Normally he always plays near the Ruhrgebiet. A shame.
But: The new setlist isn't that great either. Had hoped for more new material
