Is not in BBC radio 2?
I thought he was there until Friday and then leaving the BBC...
-
This is not a BBC station. As I understood Ken Bruce is now working there.
-
And we hear more songs ;)
-
What can we expect? An interview, some songs?

Ken Bruce left the BBC last year and moved to Greatest Hits Radio, as have a number of other ex-Radio 2 DJs who became (understandably) frustrated with the direction the station is going in. And it seems a good chunk of Radio 2’s core listenership has also made the switch!
Greatest Hits Radio is, however, exactly what it says on the tin - they play greatest hits. They don’t really play new music, even by veteran artists. However, they do occasionally have musical guests who are promoting albums or whatever it might be and on those occasions, they do play whatever the artist happens to be promoting. But I wouldn’t expect to hear anything more than Ahead of the Game - so I wouldn’t get your hopes too high!

Almost certainly, MK’s appearance today is going to be more about the massive TCT announcement than his new album - which is still over two months away.
-
Ken Bruce show has just started on Greatest Hits Radio. Not sure what time MK is on. Probably be after 11 ;D
UPDATED:
Will be on just after 12.00 noon :)
-
Ken just said it will be after 12.
-
Probably talking about the tct project then

Ken Bruce is mentioning during the show that MK is going to talk about selling his guitars and his brand new single, but yes, of course, many other topics would be covered probably.

SOS single version playing now

I heard some inside info that one of those other topics is something to do with blowing up a radio, but I won’t believe it until I hear it.

He’s on now!

He's definitely talking about the GH for TCT, Ken Bruce mentioned it as his new single...
-
Studio MFN.
Something about the Teenage Cancer single to follow.
-
Wow, what a really short interview, LOL
What a amazing thursday of short things :lol :lol :lol :lol

Frankly, all a bit of a waste of time. We got SoS, MfN and the same 15 sec clip of LH we’ve already heard. Ken confused the LH single with the new album.

Yeah, it made MK said to him that his new record is called "One Deep River", the one with a picture of Newcastle bridge, LOL

Most interesting things is that MK talked with Jeff Beck about doing a record together. Sad that's impossible

That's true. Incidentally, does anyone have the inside track on MK describing Beck's solo on Private Dancer as 'the second worst guitar solo of all time'?

For anyone who missed it, here’s the (short) bit with MK: https://youtu.be/2bnhdrTIoF4?si=0wWtnkYa-dicdfhL
The clip/recording I uploaded is a bit rough and ready, mainly because I opted for speed to get this up as quickly as possible.

Thanks!

Thank you :)

It seems that Ken Bruce was not really aware about the "single" and the album being two totally different things...

It's quite crazy to hear Mark acknowledging he wanted, and fans wanted, him to record something with Jeff Beck, and yet, in all these years, with his own studio, he hasn't managed to do it before Jeff died. You can probably write a whole book on things Mark wanted to do in his life, but never got around to doing it. Let's wait another 10 years, maybe Mark will record something properly with David Gilmour, provided they both will be alive at this point!
-
Busy scheduke for both and everybody has priorities among the many things they wish to do.
Mark did Chet, Emmylou, Brendan and Steve, Eric, Hank, Bill and others collaborations, so not regret as he could not be everywhere.
There are more people you want to record with than life can afford you.

In my opinion, Mark is a very good collaborator, and unless it's just another "please record some typical Mark Knopfler guitar licks for my song over the Internet so I'll sell more copies of it" type of collaboration, it elevates the level of everybody involved. I already said that Mark's album with Chet is easily Chet's best-sounding record he's ever done, which is funny considering his long career and experience and the low budget of their collaboration.
Sure, Mark did a lot and you can't change the history anyway, it's fun to imagine all these non-existent collaborations though.
