Title: Chet Atkins Tribute Album
Post by: qjamesfloyd on March 17, 2024, 12:18:55 PM
Looks like there is to be a new tribute album for what would have been Chet's 100th birthday, the usual suspects on board, but no Mark Knopfler 😕 even Eric Clapton is on there, but not Mark, how strange.

I guess it is based on the fact what Mark is able to play nowadays?

This is very sad.  I'm sure Mark would have wanted to have been a part of this.  :'(

There were Chet Atkins tributes before without Mark in it. Don't think it's intentional since obviously Mark is a massive CA fan and a (former) friend, probably just schedules not allowing it.

Mark has already done so much for Chet legacy.

i doubt he was not asked. and yes, lines notes is a possibility.
also, remember how we all wondered why EC was not doing the foreword for the JJ cale box that came out last year, but MK?
pretty sure it is just a calendar issue
