Edit: Confused... why is it St. James' Park in Newcastle, but St. James's Park in London?  :hmm

I've always wondered that. I always thought the apostrophe went after the s.

Might have something to do with St James' Park Newcastle being so named after St James Church and  St James's Park London being named after St James's Palace..

I thought it might be just a regional thing, but even in Geordieland they're unsure:

I liked this statement from a reader called Peter Sands: "St James's is grammatically correct, sounds better and was used when we used to win cups."  ;D
