I think we all know about the Telegraph Road "blooper" that was released. A few seconds we really didn't need to hear ;D
Now, I just realized that Darling Pretty also has an "extended version" that is 12 seconds longer, because they included a bit more soloing in the outro than on the regular album version. It makes me wonder if this has happened a few more times?
This one is no blooper, though, in fact I wish this was the "proper" version of the song.

Yes, it was the Mexican version of the single "What It Is"

Summer of love official video that contains a 30 seconds longer outro than released on single/cd/vinyl

I've never heard about this one! Can I find it on youtube or somewhere?
Edit: found it! Is it just the additional verse? To me it seems like a different recording, or at least the vocals are different from the album version, aren't they?

Extra verse:
Cold on a tollgate at the drumspeed the tattoo
Cold on a tollgate God knows what I can do with you
That's what it is
It's what it is now
What it is
It's what it is now
And the Highland-man stands blowing on his fingers by the green
I've walked inside his shoes before
So I always buy his magazines
He's with a local mystery
With blood stains on her hands
I like the way she winks at me
But I leave her with the Highland-man
I didn't notice a difference but I may be wrong

Thank you very much for the lyrics, Robson!
The magazine would be the Big Issue, right? So the Highland-man is a homeless person? And who is the lady then?

Not only that but a whole different take...

I guess the Big Issue man had a girlfriend.
I'm glad MK removed this verse. The song is too long with it, it's kind of sleazy MK flirting with the woman, and this is before you get into the cringey Scottish cliche of a "highlander" in Edinburgh :)

Yes, it doesn't really fit somehow. Maybe he was making up it while he was singing, Dylan-style 🤣
But I still don't get the "bloodstained hands" bit. And what's the guy doing, "blowing on his fingers"? Pretending to be playing the bagpipes?

Funnily there are some liver versions of What It Is where MK mess the lyrics and sings parts of this deleted lyrics, LOL

I don't think it's a different take, it's just a different mix with extra bars

WII on PI compilation is also a mix of the STP album version and Mexican one. It’s a regular one, but with the “drumspeed” thingy.
Not really extended, but different.
Nice version is the instrumental WII. Like 1,5 minute stuff.

Oh, there was a CD-Rom that came out at the time of STP where you were able to mix your own version of the song STP.
From memory the drums were different on it.

No, it was this one that I was thinking of.

But maybe the mixer thing was on the MK website?

At the risk of sounding like a geek on one of the "pre FM" Alchemy sets that is the same recording there is an extra bar in the outro of Romeo and Juliet and also a slightly different mix. Listen here

Actually that pre-fm seems to me like a pre-mix of the Alchemy master as there are plenty of things you can listen in this version that you can't in Alchemy, I remember being shocked about some piano parts at the end of Tunnel of love, also some things in the end of Romeo etc etc
-
regarding Alchemy you can also add Mark's speech about spanish city during TOL intro which figures only in the video, not on the vinyl/CD

Perfect song!
Great guitar sound, and imho his voice sounded better on the OES album than on any other recording. Dark, smoky, raspy... just terminally cool.
