Had some time to kill when changing trains in my neighbor town, wasn't aware that there was a record fair this afternoon next to the train station, had a look and found a near mint copy of Alchemy, the real one plus some other gems (Rumours very early German pressing among others.). Went home with eight great albums (long searched after/or from my watchlist). Listening to Tunnel Of Love right now and both records play very nice, I am very happy with the quality. My original Alchemy vinyl was in pretty bad condition after all those years and with a damaged sleeve, got it already heavily used back in 1986. Feels good to have a clean copy in excellent condition from one of the greatest live albums ever. I will probably never listen to the Live Box version again. Sometimes less is more.

Great stuff. I have original cds, original vinyl and cd live box set. Choice is good!

Alchemy is a live-masterpice. At the moment the prices are rising into the sky for that album, mostly are totally overpriced on the well known online-marketplaces. I own my two German editions, green and red UFOS-Vertigo-label, the US-Warner Bros-Variant, the UK-Vertigo, the Canadian-Vertigo, South-Africa, Zimbabwe, Yugoslavia, Taiwan and so on. Brilliant album in any case.

Median price on Discogs is £24 for an original uk LP, not bad.

Hy dustyvalentino. OK, that is more a reasonable price for that album, but there are some big traders on the electronic marketplaces, who gave them prices like 80 Euro. That is absoultely insane, but true. Just have a closer look there, because i cannot tell the names of the traders. There are many many other examples for irrational prices there. I saw an Alchemy 2-LP-Set, regular EU-release on a German record-fair for about 40 Euros and that is also not reasonable. I don´t know the accurate reason, why some traders, mostly the big professional traders, make such decisions in the case of price-findings. It makes no sense to me. :hmm

I know it has no value to compare, but in the 25 years between the arrival of the CD and the revival of the LP, the prices of the used LPs were ridiculously low. I found Excellent US pressings with less than 3 Euros, and Greek one with less than 50 cents. Everyone was getting rid of their record collections. BiA in Columbia house club edition, for 3 euros, it was easy to find. Still is, but at inflated prices. Alchemy is the hardest of the albums to find anymore, apart from the 90ies ones.
