Haha Val, we wrote our messages almost at the same time! ROFL I started a thread, but deleted it again when I saw your message! LOL
I just got a message of MarkKnopfler.com Tickets for the Brighton Centre also! ......Yeahhhh!!! ... I already got nervous thinking I might have done
something wrong while I ordered. ;D
This was the message:
You purchased 2 ticket(s) to see the Mark Knopfler show on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Brighton Centre in Brighton, UK! We have assigned you the following seat(s): Stalls, Row C, Seat(s) 23, 24.
I can't find a map of the hall, so I am curious to know where we sit and if others like Val, Pottel, Martina and Arthur will sit nearby us! Has one of you a map of the hall or any idea if it is nearby Mark and the stage?? ??? ;D
Fieneke
-
My seat's for Glasgow have arrived too! Got me all excited, then I remembered it wasn't until May next year :(
Block GG, Row A, Seat(s) 10, 11, 12, 13.

Fieneke, Your seats will be three rows from the front, just about in the middle and we will be two rows in front of you - in front of Mark! :D :P
-
OOHHHH that is wonderfull news, I LOVE IT! :P
-
Still awaiting Dublin!
I was in the O2 in Dublin on Sat night for Fleetwood Mac & believe me no matter where you are in the venue you will have a good view.I would imagine the priority tickets will be in the flat section in front of the stage but the venue is awesome & is built in the form of an amphitheatre so no matter where you are the sound & view is excellent. The Mac were brillant but I couldnt stop thinking of how good MK will sound in there next May :P :P.
-
That's good news W/M! I'm glad you enjoyed Fleetwood Mac. Was Lindsey Buckingham the guitarist?
-
Hi all,

And again ....... Newcastle block A, row A, seat 27!!!
This feels good :D
(By the way: I also went to Fleetwood Mac in Ahoy Rotterdam and it was great!!!! Almost 2 1/2 hours, first hour was a little low profile and sound wasn't that good, but the 1 1/2 hour later it was great)

-
I too have my seats for the CIA in Cardiff - Block 2, Row B, Seat(s) 36, 37
Second row - centre block - dead centre - pretty much where i was for the KTGC show which i bought through the presale too! Im very pleased! ;D
-
That's good news W/M! I'm glad you enjoyed Fleetwood Mac. Was Lindsey Buckingham the guitarist?
Yes Val,it was Stevie Nicks on vocals with Lindsey Buckingham on lead guitar & vocals,Mick Fleetwood on drums & John McVie on bass plus they had a guy on keyboard & 3 backing singers that included Stevie Nicks daughter - no Christine McVie :'(.
The only thing that I noticed & this is obviously a FM thing, was that there was about 100 - 200 people standing in front of the stage when the gig started & they didnt sit down for the whole gig.Now I would imagine that most of them were probably sitting in the first few rows but if you had forked out serious
-
I couldnt see it happening at a MK gig, well I hope not anyway as I dont fancy looking at some guys backside for 2 hours
Yes, an hour's usually enough for you.
-
Stevie Nicks - Phwor - what a voice! :o
-
Stevie Nicks - Phwor - what a voice! :o
The BEST female vocalist in the entire world.!!!!!!!!!
Would love to see a Knopfler/ Nicks duet album.!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers BBB

-
I have got FSTALLS tickets Row G yay!! am I near any of you my fellow Knopflerado's? :)
Hey Fordie! It's great to know that you will be there also and I hope we all can meet before the show. ;D
I don't have a map of the concert hall, but Val told she has A and is in front of the stage. We have C so will be sitting 2 rows behind her. When you have G, you will perhaps sit 2 rows behind me, BUT perhaps Val, Martina or Pottel can tell if that is right. They have been there before! ;)
Btw Draad can you tell which seats you have? ???
Fieneke

Here is the seating plan of Brighton. (http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee132/marky66_photos/KTGC_24052008/12649s_a.jpg?)

I've deleted the email, but, if I remember correctly, we're row C for Brighton.
-
Where are you in Glasgow Arthur?
-
Whaauww Martina, THANK YOU for the seating plan! :-*
I have Stalls row C, so when I am right then we will be in the blue area and sit in front of Mark?? ...... Can you confirm?
Hhhhmmm what a view I will have then! :P ;D
Draad what a pity that you deleted that E-mail!! I hope there won't be problems now when you collect your tickets?

I found out immediately that these seats couldn't be better. But we deserve it ;)
When you organize tix they are excellent as well, so I had to be the first one niw. Thanks to the excellent internetconnection here at my office ;D
-
NYC seat assignments came out today. I somehow got front row, row AA! What dumb luck. I've never had that for MK. What really sucks though is that there is only a 50/50 chance of me being able to make the show, and I won't know until April of next year. Ugh.
-
Lots of reasons to try to organize you can go! Good luck with it!
-
I got seats on first row for the concert in Bergen, Norway! Cant wait!! :)
-
I'm getting excited again. For Pechaga in Ca, I got row C center . Yeah...... I've already measured the distance in my mind how close I'd be to the stage. Now, I really can't wait. :)

Temecula, Pechanga Resort & Casino:
Cool, I hope we can meet up, if you like Sweetsurrender! I got row AA, seat 113. See seating chart.

Finally got my seating for LA (1st night) and Temecula from Teresa at MK.com. There had been a mixup due to my email address changing, even though I changed it on MK.com immediately.
Anyway, Temecula: Center Section, Row B, Seat 106
Los Angeles: Orchestra Section, Row BBB, Seat 102
Since I ordered the second the page came up, I'm a bit disappointed at not getting a front row, but it looks like both are fairly near the center, so the view should be good.
-
Hello Linda, I am glad to read that you finally got your seat numbers also! ;)
Fieneke
-
LA, 1st night: Pit Orchestra, row AAA, seat 105. Just perfect.
-
Thanks, Fieneke!
-
Marky49, Thanks for the seating chart for Temecula. I was going to look it up. You are so LUCKY!!!! I hope Row C won't be too far away from the stage. Any ideas how many feet away? It' s too bad I didn't get the pit ! :(
knopfling, good to hear that you got your seat assignment sorted out. You 'll be a row in front of me. Cool.
Marky49 and knopfling, I'd love to get together before the show. It would be so much fun. I'll work on organizing it. There are few other fans in mk.com forum who are going to Temecula as well. I'm still considering another gig in LA.
-
Hey Sweet, it would be great to meet you and others!

Sweetsurrender, we'll be flying in from London and staying for 10 days in LA. I'll be at the 2 nites in LA and Temecula. Never been there before, any advice on parking etc. as I'll be driving from Hollywood?
Due to the seating chart the theatre is small, I guess you'll be close to the stage too.
-
Way to go, Marky! Best seats in the house!
-
Hi Marie,
Did you get your seat assignment for Santa Rosa yet? I'll be in Row E. to the side.
marky, I live in the East Bay, San Francisco area. All I can tell you is that LA traffic is a nightmare. No matter what time of the day or night. So, allow plenty plenty of time. I'm pretty certain that I'll make my way to Pentages as well if not both nights, then one. It just doesn't feel right to be so close yet not seeing Mark. I'll talk to my friend. If all goes well, I'll see Mark 5 nights straight !!! Yeah !!! It's exciting even to just think about it.
Linda, are you going to Pentages gigs also? Absolutey love to meet up with all the fans.
-
Sweet, I have a ticket for 1st Pantages and Temecula.
Temecula: Center Section, Row B, Seat 106
Los Angeles: Orchestra Section, Row BBB, Seat 102

L'il bit grumpy here. I ordered Eugene tickets in the first two minutes, and stipulated that i needed a wheelchair access ticket for my husband. The site didn't remember, and by the time the mistake was corrected, my tickets ended up in the very last row of the theatre. Row JJ. Had it been done right, we would have been in the second row. I think I should get my money back on that one. I'm not going to drive seven hours one way to watch a concert from that kind of distance, for top dollar prices. Sigh. >:(
Two hours later: Worser and worser. Got worried and called the Santa Rosa theatre. The assigned seats there aren't even wheelchair access at all! So, it looks as if I'll be missing my first Mark Knopfler concert in a bajillion years. I'm not usually a whiner, but this really sucks a rough rope. >:( >:( >:( >:(
So guys, prolly no recordings from Eugene or Santa Rosa next year.
-
Not other words than: that sucks!!
Poor you, hope they can manage something for you!
-
I'm really sorry for you, Marie, I know just how upset I would feel if it happened to me. I hope there is something that can be done to put things right.
-
very annoying, I know how you feel! (I can't take my son where I want because of a stupid Swedish rule)

I think we should contact Guy on this one, I don't think MK would be happy to hear about this.
-
Dear Marie, I am very sorry to hear about the seats. I would feel terrible also! When I was at a concert of Emmylou I remember a man in a wheelchair sitting in the aisle in front of the stage. Don't they have that possibility in those places?
Perhaps the management team of Mark can arrange something? It is rediculous when people in wheelchairs can't attend a concert! >:( I keep my fingers crossed for you so you both can be at the concert. :-*
Fieneke
-
Marie, I am so sorry. There certainly should be some way for MK.com to accommodate wheelchair access at the concerts. The venues all have to have some form of handicapped space. I suppose somebody didn't set up the presale to take into account the possible need for wheelchairs or handicapped chairs.
I don't think this is anything that Guy can help with, but I think I would try writing to Paul Crockford and lodging a complaint with him.
-
:-\ :'( Yes this is awful news Marie. I certainly hope that things can be done to rectify the situation for you.
I don't think this is anything that Guy can help with, but I think I would try writing to Paul Crockford and lodging a complaint with him.
I emailed him and he has already started the follow-up with PCM. The lady who deals with ticket problems is away at the moment but will receive Guy's email re the problem when she returns.
I'm sure that if there is any way that the situation can be resolved then they will give it their best shot at doing this. Fingers crossed everyone. :)
-
I don't think this is anything that Guy can help with, but I think I would try writing to Paul Crockford and lodging a complaint with him.
Normally Guy wouldn't get involved in such matters BUT it is clear he is able to when he has the inclination - after all he got Newcastle tickets for BBB last year when BBB won a competition on Dr Fletch.
I think under normal circumstances he wouldn't get involved in ticket stuff but in a situation where someone has lost out because of their disability I think he might. I don't know what it's like in eth US but here in the UK this sort of thing would probably be covered by the Disability Discrimination Act or something.
-
I am flabbergasted in the most wonderful way. I put that post up there just to moan and groan, and my wonderful friends took action, something I never expected. I heard from markknopfler.com yesterday. They have 'found a new set of tickets for us.' And the seats are wonderful!
I don't know exactly how the switch happened, but it wasn't due to any initiative from the ticket sales office (although they took credit in the email)
It was thanks to you, Guy, maybe even PC, and the theatre itself. I have never even considered asking Guy or PC for help, but there it was. Thank you!
In Jacksonville in 2008, Dean and I got to talk with Guy for about 10 minutes. Dean was so impressed with what a nice and genuine person Guy is.
Wow! We get to go! Thank you! ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
That's the best news of the day! I really hoped this could be solved in the most positive way. I'm very happy for you and your husband, IrisRose :)
-
Great news. :)
-
I am so pleased for you, Marie. Wonderful news! :D
-
This is great! AMIT Power!!!
-
Marie, that is terrific news, and I am glad that Guy, PCM and MK.com got together.
I did not think Guy would be able to help because of his recent post to someone that hasn't gotten their Get Lucky boxed set. Guy answered in this way: "I'm unable to help you Robert as I'm not affiliated to the MK store in any way. I understand they have ongoing supply issues though."
I am so very happy for you that he made an exception for your case.
-
Wonderful, great, excellent!!
-
Fantastic news ;D ;) ;)
-
This really is a great community we all take part in - we watch each other
-
on my request for the dublin and munich gig mk.com answered today
"We are currently finishing up the seating assignments for this show. You can expect to see an e-mail within the next week with your exact location."
we'll see ...
-
Oh, thanks joko! I was just thinking about mailing them for the third time... I wait for Hamburg, and I think Munich and Hamburg will be cleared up within the same few days. Somehow ridiculous how long we have to wait - I mean every second day I get a new e-mail from them advertising something new more or less interesting... But we paid for it nearly three months ago, and still have no idea about the quality of the seats...
Have all a nice weekend!
LE
-
Thank you, Joerg, for this news. I was getting pretty worried about the Dublin gig. I hope we will hear something soon. :)

I'm really happy I bought the tickets for Cologne directly at a ticket shop in Germany. OK, best seats were from row 9 on... :)
-
Thanks for that info, joko. Can't wait to find out where I'll be sitting in Mannheim and Frankfurt!

Dear Marie, I am so glad to hear that you and your husband are able to attend that concert! That is really wonderful news! ;D

I have just wrapped up 3 Xmas presents for my wife, sister and her partner (I bought tickets for them to see MK next year).
I would have preferred it if I could have wrapped up the actual concert tickets instead of a cobbled together piece of paper with an acknowledgment from MK.com, details of the cost and the actual seat numbers. I just know i am going to have to do 3 lots of explaining regarding the whys and wherefores of collecting the tickets on the night of the gig.
Does anyone else wish they had them in their hands rather than knowing they haven't even been printed yet and having to take some ID and the exact credit/debit card used for the transaction along to the show? It kind of takes a shine off the whole thing for me.
I know if someone told me that they were going to take me to a concert to see a favourite artist of mine but that they had no tickets yet although they have been promised them and they assure me they will be there on the night of the show for collection I would be slightly apprehensive! I may even think he/she had bought them from Ebay and were meeting a tout somewhere to pick them up.
-
Yes, Simon, I have trepidations about the current method of ticketing. You buy the tickets 8 months in advance -- what if something happens to you and you can't go? You have nothing to sell. No way to give them to a friend or relative, unless you give them your credit card that you purchased the tickets with. Some places may take the tickets back, but it would be quite a hassle.
I don't think I would buy tickets in this manner for anyone but MK. Too much uncertainty. And I have heard that it doesn't really stop the scalpers anyway.
-
And like you say - what if something happens to me - the tickets die with me - 4 empty seats! That is a crime in itself empty seats at an MK concert!
The law in this land would state that those tickets - whether I had them or not- were assets of mine and if i was to pop my clogs then they would form part of my estate yet no one could possibly redeem them.
After this year I think I will be making representations to MK.Com asking for a better method. There must be one surely!
-
Simon, it's not just MK.com. Ticketmaster and other such services are using it all over. Perhaps we could persuade MK.com not to use it in the future, though.
-
Ticketmaster allow you to print your own tickets or have them sent to you though - I am not aware that they have full concerts where all tickets have to be collected on the night - that would cause mayhem surely?
-
Yes, it
-
I just received mine for Paris show.
They are NOT first row :'( but
- They are not with correct order number
- They are not under correct name
- THEY ARE NOT MINE !!!! ;D
-
DS1984 !!!!
