Title: Live Aid 40 years ago today
Post by: JF on July 13, 2025, 12:14:32 PM
40 years ago, the LIVE AID double concert took place.

On July 13, 1985, two concerts organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure brought together the finest rock stars of the time in London and Philadelphia to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine that was taking place that year.

Just watched the whole thing. What an amazing concert.

The Straits were an absolute powerhouse. MFN then storming into Sultans  not before MK says, "alright  take it away Tel". Great to see that bit of footage

Yes, it is.

I watched the upload part 5 of DS set again and maybe it's just me but I think this is the best it's ever sounded.  Not a great improvement, but a slight improvement on the best we've had previously.  I do wish the mix had been better because they are nice versions, apart from lyric mistakes in each song (neither from Mark).
