I dont know how much complicated could it be but, would it be possible that an app for iphone/ipod/android could be made and stay tuned with our smartphones?
I named that three as they are the most popular, blackberry and symbian are popular as well, but if its possible maybe it worth to focus in the most popular.
What do you think?

If it took four years just to get to where we are now, how long do you think an iphone app would take to build? :)
There are many possibilities that the latest and greatest pieces of technology offer that fan sites can adopt. The sky is the limit in terms of coming up with big ideas, but the sky is NOT the limit when it comes to the amount of spare time we have to build and implement them unfortunately.

Thats why I mention I dont know how difficult could it be ;D

we still have other things to take care of....still...

Do you mean... AMIT, not the forum but the site?
;D

si ;D

And... what about a little app that just let you sign in and search for the "new replies to your posts" and "new posts"?
Maybe it can be donde using rss feeds. I dont have any idea of develop iphones and android apps, but maybe someone here knows and could give it a try...

I use i-phone and i-pad. Actually now writing this on i-phone. So it works. A little precize clicking but I made it to post during the gig in Dublin.

works fine on my berry too...

I've given this some thought. I have a Droid Incredible 2, and while I very much dislike the WAP2 (http://www.amarkintime.org/forum/index.php?wap2) version of this forum (too cut down), I find the normal layout two detailed to use on my phone. Sometimes I accidentally click on something when I actually meant to click on something near it on the screen. So what I was thinking about doing was creating a forum layout specifically for mobile devices. It would have more features than WAP2 with big buttons that are easy to touch.
As for an actual app...it's possible, but what exactly would we put on it? And would we run into copyright issues?
-
also, not the topic, but we (nelly) need to start thinking about a new theme...

The rss feed works pretty well in my android (htc desire s) but when I push the "read the full article" link and goes to the site, its too big and to click where I want, I need to zoom over it before.

I bought my first Andriod phone just 3 weeks ago so I too would be quite happy with an AMIT app, just to see things pre-formatted to my phone.
Not essential of course but appreciated. :)

Of course, I'm managing to follow whats new with the rss feed reader, but to read the full conversation and post or answer I have to swith to the full site, and thats where the fun beguin. Not something you can
-
for me the rss feed is always too slow, even though i set it on "update every 30min." it doesn't
-
Yes, the same happens to me. What I do to solve it is just push on the "read the full article" link on then go to the full site and then click the "new replies to your posts" and "unread posts since last visit"
Thats the reason I thought that a small app with that features will do the work, maybe mixed with the rss feed, I dont know, as I mentioned, I dont have a clue about programming apps for apple or android devices...

Just found that exists a free programme called "iBuildApp" that creates apps for Iphone, Ipad and Android...
