Wouldnt be nice if they do it on regular basis till the end of the tour, every night a different song, they record every concert, and at the end they release a Dylan on tour with Knopfler cd?
;D ;D ;D

With Bob being Bob, and Mark being Mark, who knows?
;D ;D

Honestly, I really think we witness a very subtle development here. First both artists start the tour and aim to optimize the interval time for the roadies and let Mark get warm with the band and tour. Then next step, Bob asks Mark. Guy standard answer always is "let's see what happens/nothing's planned yet". So we might be able to see more real "duets", maybe some longer part in the middle of the show with one, two, three songs etc. Mark definitely is
too modest to ask Bob to give him more time, but maybe it works so well and Bob has some fun with it so there will be more in the next few weeks.

My favourite recording would be Glasgow 9th, except for Speedway is missing... it has the three new songs together ;)
-
thats a good setlist
-
I also love what Fred says: Fantastic show! So everybody so far who attended one of the shows seems deeply impressed/satisfied. That's a good sign!
Can't wait until next Sunday!
LE
-
thats a good setlist
yes, I agree, except so far away which could have been replaced by brothers in arms or another one
I long for tomorrow...
-
I think they needed a song that somehow signals that it is the last song! So Far Away was always and still is a good way to end a show.

Not Dary Yet is an absolute gem I'd love to hear live.
Love that song
-
I like BD but this setlist is quite boring... Bob sings like a crocodile... All the songs seem to be the ones like the others. And no MK with Bob tonight! A good blues concert but that's all ... A lot of people leave the arena saying it's not worth!

Not Dark Yet is surely one of his best tunes ever.

Yes, Tallgren, great song! I like that one too very much...
I was born here and I'll die here against my will
I know it looks like I'm movin' but I'm standin' still
Every nerve in my body is so naked and numb
I can't even remember what it was I came here to get away from
Don't even hear the murmur of a prayer
It's not dark yet but it's gettin' there.
That's when the genius stuff gets started again...

And the burning question of the evening: Why was Pottel watching Scream 4 when there was an MK/BD concert going on? ;D
Also, at the risk of sounding stupid but someone please enlighten me what this "Bob center stage" remark is all about... Been wondering about this ever since the tour started ???
By the way, I also like "Not Dark Yet", especially the line "It's not dark yet but it's getting there". As for the rest, I don't really understand what the fuss is about, but that's just me... I made a funny observation while listening through some Dylan stuff. I don't like most of his lyrics. I can't really say why, and I'm curious to find out soon, but... Most of them simply aren't appealing to me.
-

Its quite literal...
;D
Bob has two points at the stage, one is his keyboard, where he plays and sings some of the songs, and the other one is the center of the stage where he usually plays with his harmonica, or without, and looks like with a guitar in one or two songs in some concerts...

Ahh, thanks! ;D Well, I'd prefer a remark like "Mark on guitar" ;D

IIRC he didn't uese a pick either on SFA during the GL tour last year either.

Sunday show in Lille provided me two great surprises.
A few month back I a report on TV showed that people buying tickets for that show were in majority primarily BD fans.
But the house yesterday evening was just incredible during Mark's set and I couldn't believe the roar at the the end of one song (Marbletown?). And I am pretty sure that tonight in Bercy it will be the same excitment.
The second surprise was the setlist.
These last days from my point of view thing were getting worse and worse.
So when I heard the first chord on the Danelectro, yes CBC was back in the game!
Good point
Then the predictale setlist, too much folk for my taste (Privateering-DWB-Marbletown, two out of thes three are over quota for me, I would keep Marbletown).
And then SAN is back also.
Considering all the songs played so far onthis tour this was nearly the best possible setlist I could dream (SL being dropped would be my dream but I fear that it will remains at least as long as WOL did).
The Dylan part.
Ear plug to compensate the loudness. Sound was less horrible than I expected.
I stayed until LARS included but I was getting enough of it after the first 30 minutes.
Not much to tell about that has already been said.
During the last encore I checked the arena : although people were already leaving, it was still nearly full.
-
Both artists were filmed by a well known taper :-)

Just remember that during Dylan concert, I spend the last 30 minutes looking at my watch and praying that was it...
I dont like the idea of leaving a concert, and I was there just waiting for the little chance of seeing MK at the encores with Dylan, so that 30 minutes were the longest of my life, but stayed there and recorded the whole thing anyway.

Depends on the tracker. I know I want this one (Bournemouth even more though)

What shirts?
Your message sounds more and more obscure to me.

Argggggggg! I sometimes think that I am losing it. What's wrong with MK's voice? It's trembling at points beyond my usual bounds. Is he affected by BD's voice or what? I have been listening to the recordings so far and I can't explain it. Any thoughts on the subject? (and please don't say it is the age.)

lol, not sure........
and not sure about paris either..... ;D

Brilliant quality. Is this a person who eventually puts shows up on torrent sites? I hope so.
Also does Mark's stuff basically never get pulled off youtube? Dylan's stuff was all getting pulled off on a daily basis up until a month or two ago. I even stated a youtube page to safeguard all the clips from Dylan past summer tour, renamed of course, and have shared them only discreetly.
I thought of doing the same for Mark but it seems there is no need, outside of perhaps organizational purposes.
-
Warner Bros (who owns Dire Straits and MK rights for the US) usually ban videos from youtube from time to time, but many live videos remains there, so I guess they are not under Warner control and Universal Records doesnt mind about them...

I agree romeo is doing such a great job.
And soundwise, Paris is also a killer.
