Title: Changing Your User Theme
Post by: Hoops McCann on September 12, 2008, 04:10:39 AM
On this forum, all users are free to change their user theme. Essentially, the theme contains all colors, design, and text/feature placement that wraps around the main PHP code that makes this forum work. It describes how the forum will look to you.

To change the theme, users should simply click on Profile (http://www.amarkintime.org/forum/index.php?action=profile) at the top of the page showing their profile and the options associated with it on the right side of the page. Upon clicking on the "Look and Layout Preferences" link, you should see at the top of the page:

Current Theme: [your current theme].

Simply click (change), and select the layout that you wish to use.

If you are having trouble with this process, start a thread in the Technical Forum (http://www.amarkintime.org/forum/index.php?board=6.0) about it.

Also, if you are experienced with php, css, and the SMF forum software, and would enjoy creating a new theme option for the users here, feel free to PM an "Editor".

Thanks, Dan!  I was wanting to know how to do this.  You had mentioned it before, when we (that is, you  :))were first formatting our pages.

OK, sure...the DarkSter theme has been ammended with our top banner and some other odds and ends have been removed to make it look nicer. I finally figured out how to modify the themes. It took me long enough.  ::)

Good work Dan. We are rollin on at a busy pace and the improvements you have made are all keeping the thing fresh and people interested. This is what we will need to continue doing long term IMHO, if we want to achieve the status of "Best". I for one am happy to have someone like your-self with excellent technical knowledge to help tie it all together coupled with the enthusiasm and work ethic of the other editors.
