Title: Nod to Tunnel Of Love in Hillfarmer's Blues
Post by: Jackal on October 19, 2011, 10:26:12 PM
I knew it! I mentioned this in another thread (forgot which), that Mark plays a line in HFB that is taken from a DS song, but couldn't figure out which. Check this out:

Cool! Mental health still intact.

Well it seems I am a fan, too... instead of watching and comparing the relevant seconds from Tunnel Of Love, I ended up watching the whole damn thing! London 1985! My All Time Favourite Concert! Of All Times! Favourite! Concert!

Could be the same for me. But there is Sydney 86 with the calypso tune and a very strong version of TOL, short but OMG what a version!

Lol!  Truth be told LE..I ended up watching both the HFB vid and the TOL vid in there entirety..then had to go back and watch the Hammersmith cover of TOL with EC onstage...love that little chunk of "Ghostriders in the Sky" embedded in it!! TOL is truly the most addicting song of all time! ;D

Yes, there's an awesome bootleg up on youtube from Spain during last year's tour that has fantastic sound quality. I first noticed MK quoting TOL in his HFB solo there. Good to see it wasn't just a flash in the pan.

OK I'm probably completely wrong, but that little phrase always sounds to me like something from West Side Story.  I call it the Maria moment, lol!    "Maria, Maria, Maria".  :)

"It'd be a really decent thing to do ...... I must say". I always liked that Ed
Grimley line.
