Hi Maggie, Of course I remember you and your husband! What a great concert that was at Bournemouth. It is one of my favourite simfy recordings! Maybe we'll meet again on the next tour. Have fun tonight! :)

Hi,
Maggie, where are you seated? I think we met before (Hamburg 2008?) I'd like to shake hands with you at least (tall guy, short hair...)
I will send messages with Mark's setlist to Pottel, worked out already. I think I will do it in stages, three or four messages are enough for the lot of you!! ;D
I am not sure if I will writing on when Bob's set has started, because I think I will not be able to recognize and recall every name of every song, although I managed to do that in Oberhausen (and which is something I am rather proud of, I mean recognizing a COMPLETE Dylan set means something!)
I am sure however the Dylan part is covered well enough by ER people, I am sure there will be some of them in Hannover! ;) Just have a look at the ones behaving rude... ( fuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyy)
Looking forward to it very much! After listening to some great versions of Dylan on "Tell Tale Signs" (Someday Baby and Can't Wait from that album are really phantastic!) for a whole week now I actually found myself being more exicted about Bob than about Mark!!! :o Who would have thought! Might be because Mark seems to be on "autopilot" for a few days now, will be interesting to see him nevertheless... But I guess it will be as always: When he
appears and starts caressing his guitar, I will forget everything else around me...
So, going off to Hannover in two hours, nice Sunday to all, you will read my review not before Monday evening! Heavy day in front of me tomorrow:
coming home not before 3:00 am, going to work tomorrow morning after three or four hours sleep... Yeah yeah, it is hard sometimes to be obessed with something!

I was thinking about making it short but I can't, I have a lot of stuff to tell, and I thought that although a lot of forumers have attended several shows now, there are a lot of people out there who are not able to go to a show this time, so maybe they are interested in a more detailed report:
My seat was in row 24, which is obviously crap compared to the

nice review LE!
glad you see it the way i did.

Nice!
That waaaaoooom is for sure a highlight.

Hey Pottel! Thanks, Mister! Wanna buy a poster? ;D
It was fun being your "mysterious (and now hopefully converted) MK fan"!
But today at ER I read another review, totally contrary to my observations: I hope I am allowed to post some parts of here:
After having seen Berlin and Hamburg this was a considerably worse performance. Bob was on auto-pilot for most of the night, with "Not Dark Yet" a notable exception. Even "Visions" was not as good as it should be... Apart from those two (and maybe Sugar Baby) the setlist was rather boring, for me at least. There was a nice comparision in the local paper today: "He lives in his songs like in a room, which he likes to re-decorate every day". But yesterday he was quite comfortable in keeping the room nice and tidy instead of messing things up like he usually does. At the time of "watchtower" the arena was half-empty, of course most of the leaving ones were either Knopfler-fans or the typical Bob tourist that are still surprised that he doesn't play solo acoustic sets anymore... And the TUI Arena is the most terrible arena I ever been to. Apart from being in the middle of nowhere, it looks like a bloody travel agency. I want to go to a rock show (or a sports event for that matter) and I don't want to book my next vacation (there were at least five travel agency booths) or sign an insurance contract while I'm there.
Very astonished to read that. If it is true, it had no impact on the atmosphere and vibe of the show...

Hmm, I am not surprised at all by those reactions, I am rather surprised why some people are surprised ;D
This tour was designed to attract a mass audience, and Bob simply isn't "mainstream". I would say there were quite a few Dylanologists, but also lots of people who came there to see and hear MK, and maybe hear Bob doing "Blowing In The Wind" the way they know it from the original record from 1960-something. Which of course Bob doesn't do. Hence, lots of people were overstrained... In Berlin, I talked to two elder ladies who told me it was "outrageous" Bob doesn't perform his songs the way his fans know them. Make of this what you want, I think you get my point. The fact is, these ladies aren't stupid of course, they just had different expectations, as had all the others leaving during Bob's part of the show. Calling them "Bob tourists" is really arrogant and mean, and way too simple.

Could you imagine Mark performing an all reggae tempo show?
-
Lovely review LE. I am one of the people who can't attend any of the shows so thank you for the detailed report.
-
Thanks for the long a nice review LE. I am so glad you thought of me during the gig ;D This waaaaaoooo, is something isn't it? I first really noticed 3 gigs ago and I keep an eye and an ear out for it every time now.
Great that you got to hear "Haul away" live, I have recently discovered it on the Luxemburg recording and I love it!

Hi LE! Many thanks for your very long and detailed review. I enjoyed reading it so much and I am pleased to hear that you had a great time. :D
-
Oh, thank you all, it's a pleasure. Because I love reading concert reviews at the forum, I thought that I should not only read them but also put up one about my show on my own.
Thinking about Rollergirl: I must say that being in a fan forum can make a concert experience even better because you have a lot of people in mind and you want to talk to them about it, share it with them and hear their opinions about it. And reading other members' reviews (like Rollergirl's) can make you more sensible for some details or comparions referring songs, venues, atmosphere and so on...
I think I need to have an AMIT shirt for the next tour... ;D
