Hi folks,
I know that the tour dates are announced around the release date usually, but last time (GL tour 2009) we had the RAH dates announced much earlier - at the end of June. So I wonder if we are in for another "surprise" within the next few weeks or if it will all go its normal way and we have to wait until Sept/Oct...
What do you think?

I heard rumours that the tour will end at the end of July more or less, so I guess it will starts around april/may.
My guess for the RAH shows are late may, this is the current availability:

Then I suppose it will start beginning of april (3 months europe) and July in US again.
RAH is available last 2 weeks so that will fit.

I guess it depends on several factors... I dont book holydays with so much anticipation, but I have to plann the holydays, although in a very rough way, for all the next year pretty soon because of my work schedule, if I

I am pretty sure he will be on tour on the States. Most of the venues here are theatres which, in my opinion, suit him much better than big venues, especially with the music he is playing.

Dublin Point Depot is free from 1st april to 25th May, and then from 27th may

I guess that searching those schedules one can figure out how the tour can be

I have first raw plans to go to Ireland with 2 days in Dublin in spring 2013 with a bunch of friends... How great it would be to connect that trip with show in Dublin...

Hi LE! I went to Dublin in 2010 and it was a great experience. The O2 Arena was fantastic and so was the show! :) Dublin is quite an expensive city though.

While I was writting my last answer something came to mind, related th the subject...
We are talking about when the 2013 tour dates will be announced, but we didnt consider that it might be delayed (the announcement) because there is another tour announcement to be made...
The North American Dylan and Knopfler tour dates...
Rumours says that it will happen in october / november, and if MK tour goes back to the US (if it does) announce both MK solo and with Bob dates at the same time could affect the sales, at least from the MK side. I wont buy tickets to see MK short concert with Dylan in november if I know MK play play in april or may alone... I will wait.
What do you think?

I'd love to see MK in the Edinburgh Playhouse (left) again next time he comes to Scotland - much nicer than the SECC. Trouble is that shows do runs there so it may be difficult to book. :(
The theatre opened in 1929 as a super-cinema, and was modelled on the Roxy Cinema in New York by the specialist cinema architect John Fairweather. Little Edinburgh architectural history there!

Oh, and MK finishes his tours in July because he never plays on his birthday! Not since the very early days anyway. ;D

Was it not early August last year when the Dylan dates were announced? The tour took also place in Oct/Nov, so maybe it could be a similar schedule.
I am not convinced by the way that MK is really returning to the US in 2013 when he plays there this autumn. So maybe the whole tour is starting later next year...

It was announced on July, I remember as i was on holydays with the smartphone deciding to which concert go.

MK 2013 will be PCM.
I guess 2013 will be sort of Europe starting on late march / early april and hitting US mid/late june up to end of july.
This should include a one week charity residency at London marky49's 2nd living room (aka The Royal Albert Hall) on late may.

Well, I believe there is a certain 2 year routine/schedule/cycle Mark has and loves. Last year was an exception with the recording of the Bap Kennedy album and Dylan Tour i think. Or maybe he recently started a 3 year routine. With 1 year of to do other projects then bringing out a solo album.
Anyway, normally the two year cycle is something like this:
1. Writing songs and making demos from August to December.
2a. Then in January start recording with band till april.
2b. In April/May mixing of album.
2c. From May till September all activities bringing out album around first week of September
3. September till December promotion activities release new album on TV and radio
4a. January till March practise/rehearsel tour
4b. March/April - August on Tour promoting the new album
I think this cycle has also to do with album sales around december holidays. Like Sinterklaas (Netherlands), Thanksgiving, Christmas.
And that Spring en Summer are the best time to tour. No heavy weather conditions for roadcrew etc.

I think that I will buy tickets to see him in October or November (my 7 year old son already told me he is coming with me :) ) even if it is a short concert.
I will then buy tickets to see him in his solo tour later again. After all, there is no RAH around here and it is not like he is touring every year.

It's only the Bob thing that I don't understand. He is late, he is unpredictable, he is Bob.
I'm just worrying about the consequences for our tour.
But no big deal. I'm used to PCM. :P ;)

Both management are doing their thing their way and I don't think that hte 2012 US double bill announcement will affect 2013 solo tour.
And although a double bill, 2012 remains basically a Bob Dylan show.

I'm wri ting this the evening of 19th October. Sales for the west coast open tomorrow, 20th at 10 a.m. Worst possible day andworst possible time for me. Traveling. Can connect in the hotel, but have to delay departure time. However, will do so, just for MK. But I can't find any advance notice of ticket prices. Anyone have an idea. I'm not paying $40 a ticket, not even for Mark. What were the prices in Europe last fall? Were they more expensive because of the double billing? Any advance ideas on ticket price. I don't want to hang around this room only to find out that the tickets are beyond my reach.

Europe has not step as high as US in term of price (well not yet).
But the double bill last year was more expensive than Mark's solo tour (for 70 minutes of show only and 85 extra minute of bad mixture of noise).
