Oh I was serious more because they are close to Malibu when in Long Beach and it was there where they recorded the Shangri-La album, and Jim Cox is from Long Beach.

Judging by the rehearsal time they've taken for these "token" US shows it must surely be the standard set they finished off the first leg with. :think
I can't really get myself too excited for this I'm afraid to say.

It is different to rehearse a set after three months time or after two years... plus they have two more days. I expect a new song, one at least!! ;D

I guess that with a short rehearsals period, it means that they are gonna stick to the European Tour set. I hope that after refresh their memory, they tried one or two new additions to the set and surprise us.
Really looking forward to this shows, at least before I know what they are playing LOL

I always thought that Sonny Liston and Today is Ok could be linked when MK is doing his final solo, adapting the speed from one to the other, you know, when he slows down the song in that final solo...

The big question is Sultans. He did drop a hint at Bridport by saying he didn't play it anymore but maybe since it's only five shows the US goers might get lucky...

I really hope SOS gets played. I won't have my hopes too high. It's such a legendary song that it will be too bad it's not played especially for first time MK concert goers. On the other hand, I will gladly see SFA gets dropped. Keep R&J though. :)

Quite agree DMG about DOTDS 'Live' - from what I have heard it just doesn't do it for me - live.

Could't disagree more. I was lucky to be in Stuttgart when this beautiful song was played and it was a magical moment. The album version is great, but the live version was great too, and different because the accoustic guitar was replaced with the flute, which, in this particular occasion (see below), was very nice to hear...

For personal reasons, I am really, really hoping for Drowned Submariner -- especially Friday in Vegas. I know it's not extended or anything, but my husband was a submariner, so it's dear to me, and Friday's his birthday.
Sweet, I agree that SFA could be dropped without hurting my feelings.
But I want MK to play what makes him happy.

He said something about it during the show. And did one line with Long Beach in it. Then said I am not going to do that song, and something like I am already here so don't have to drive. You Will hear it on the stick, he was very talkative last night.
Jim comes from Long Beach, he also said something about that, so Jim got a huge applause.
