It is very interesting that Chris Rea's shows are also available as downloads, something that was missing for the Privateering tour.
Hopefully that will also be true for the Tracker tour.

I wonder how Chris Rea sounds like now.
It's a pity he's only touring in UK and Germany and it's been like that for years.  Just like Clapton.
My assumption is either they're not good enough anymore to play for the rest of Europe or they want to do like David Knopfler.

He always play in Paris Olympia too (2006 - 2008 - 2010 - 2012) and again in a month (I'll be there !).

They will do this.
"Bleecker street"  doing a crowdfunding campaign actually and this is to be read on www.seedmatch.de site related to MK:

"Bleecker Street begleitet den mehrfachen Grammy-Gewinner zum wiederholten Male auf den Terminen seiner Europa-Tournee im Jahr 2015."

translated with google: "Bleecker Street accompanies the multiple Grammy-winner for the umpteenth time on the dates of his European tour in the 2015th"

Yeah, quite interesting.
6% of all MK concert attendees bought according to this crowdfunding article a stick. They want to achieve for the tracker tour 10%, with a marketing concept that includes also the management of MK. And there will be 3 different designs of the usb stick. You can order (or even buy?) the sticks directly after the show at the venue (at least i understand it that way), and you can preorder them

Jana, thanks a lot, great find! I think this is very good news!  :D
I was hoping for another Bleeker engagement the next tour, but, as usual in the MK universe, I feared that after 2010 and 2013 they might not do it again. So great to have the opportunity to have the visited shows (and more) later in proper quality. Although I remember that the first few sticks 2013 had not 100% top quality, it got better later.

Jana, as I think this is some really good and relevant news, I will post this info in the 2015 tour thread if you don't mind?

You asked for it Val!  I accept no responsibility for this whatsoever.

What do you get if you cross Dire Straits with Chris Rea?

Dire Rea.   :disbelief

Sorry if it is a silly question, but although I read it Many Times I never understood this pun....

It's a play on words: If you pronounce it fast, "dire rea" means

diarrhea (or diarrhoea as the Brits say) for, well, .. as Mark once had it about the meaning of "Dire Straits": "In the shit"...

french: diarrh

thanks LE, I tried the prononciation but indeed I never thought to this... :smack

may I say that all is clear now....   ;D

Blecker street closed, so I guess no, at least from them. Try sites like Ebay, discogs etc that would sell second one hands.

I'm always surprised by the insane number of MK fans who also like CR. He really doesn't strike me.

Any song suggestion that may change my opinion?

Funnily, I ordered one Mk guitar stick that came with a Chris Rea concert instead of the mk one...

Thanks for the songs, guys  :wave

Every time I listen to CR it makes me want to listen to more MK. To me it feels like Chris is kind of a weaker version of Mark.

To me the one album that captures the essence of Mark's sound and still sounds very original is Keith Urban's band's The Ranch. It's a shame that Keith ended up taking the pop-country sound path.
