Hi there
I was at the concert of Ruth Moody in Solothurn, Switzerland yesterday evening. She was absolutely excellent :thumbsup. Her voice is awesome :wave. After the concert, I was able to chat with her a bit. I asked her on which songs on the new CD by Mark Knopfler she is singing. She told me that she singing along to 5 songs. This would include:
02, Basil
04, Skydiver
07, Long Cool Girl
11, Wherever I Go [feat. Ruth Moody]
17, Time Will End All Sorrow
Also, she told me that she will be back at various concerts there. For example, at the Royal Albert Hall or in Paris. Unfortunately not in Zurich. It's a pity.

Yes, I asked her about the duet in "Wherever I go". First she didn't understand my question. Then I said to her, once Mark is singing and once you. Then she said yes.
So, I'm not really sure, if it is now a duet or not. We will see....... :wave

I hope so would play in Dublin, unlikely as the ticket says no special guest before MK, the damm O2 or Birmingham...

In 2013, Ruth played on stage with Mark on the RAH shows, Amsterdam, the five French concerts in June and the last two shows of the tour in Oakland, USA.

Really, is that confirmed yet? Would be great to see some duets again, worked out really well in 2013 I think!

I hope she will come to Antwerp as well but i bet she will come again to shows in the UK and France... Perhaps a few in Germany.
I wonder how is decided wich shows she will do and for what reason? It's the same for Nigel Hitccock.....

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. I can't find any mention what-so-ever about Ruth on the Sportpaleis-site, the site of livenation Belgium or Proximus-go-for-music. I think we'll have to do without Ruth.

The Ruth shows last time tended to have the worst set lists (for me anyway) with Speedway being dropped. Worth noting.

Speedway was played at both of your RAH concerts, I was there too! ;) It was also played at Amsterdam, another Ruth concert. :)

But not Caen, Dijon and a couple more. The standard set was made shorter to include songs with her like the rather weak Seattle which is played identical every time. Pointless.

I never attended any of the French shows last tour. I mentioned it to point out to anyone thinking of going to a "Ruth gig" simply because Mark was more inclined to drop Speedway after performing an extra song with Ruth and it may be something to think about before purchasing a ticket.
A concert without Sultans is bad enough but no Speedway either and he may as well walk out there with no guitar at all!

maybe she just mentionned the confirmed gigs she would join. She didn't mention AMS but maybe she will add dates later on ?

had my tickets through for both albert hall concerts and says special guests the ruth moody band , so she's definitely doing both rah concerts
