Title: Tracker on Spotify?
Post by: wespresso on March 25, 2015, 05:45:24 PM
Hey guys, I was wondering why Tracker still isn't on Spotify?
I bought the album, don't worry ;) but just curious, anyone knows?

I was asking myself the same thing!
Here in Holland there's only a Tracker Sampler on Spotify (with Beryl, Wherever I Go, Broken Bones and Basil).
And the Beryl single.

Also Irish Heartbeat with Van Morrison is on it as a single on Mark's profile ;)

Yeah exactly I noticed that too, so is it possible that it is only not availabe in The Netherlands?

Sampler in UK too.

Apparently the artist revenues from Spotify are miniscule so perhaps it's to try to get people to actually buy it.

Same goes for Sweden, where Spotify actually was invented.

One theory could be that there isn't a complete deal with B.G. Records just yet.

I asked Guy on his forum yesterday, and his answer was: ''Not sure I can comment on that''

MK has mentioned a lot lately about the value of buying music as a gift for others. Perhaps the great number of sales are due to the fact that streaming isn't available yet? And that it won't be available for a while until sales have peaked? It's always a thought.
