I'm with you Knopflerfan.

I was thinking about order it, and then I noticed it was shipped from England
with import duties and taxes, that would add another $500.00
If it would have been shipped from MK com in Toronto, Canada. I think I would have order it.

Brian

I only laughed about it. I don't like the painting, MK loos at least 10 years older than he is now. And the price is ridiculous for just a copy.
The management is really into dollarsigns I think. So no copy for me

I never liked the painting either and even if I did I wouldn't pay such a high price for a copy and I certainly wouldn't have it on my wall at home.   Where would I hang it?   It would probably go behind a wardrobe!   ::)

I must say, when I first got the email for early sale from MK.com I was excited to pick up a new litho...Then when I saw it, I was quite suprised.  The tour litho my father picked up, which has Knopfler surrounded by 8 (i think) guitars from his pre-dylan tour is still by far my favorite.

Im not sure who this artist is, but Im definitely not a big fan of his rendering of the man.  Looks older and wrinklier lol, and most definitely not very flattering.  IMHO not worth the 900 for sure, i took a pass.

Totally agree and I don't know why Mark agreed to this.  Never interested me in the slightest and I wouldn't even pay for the original.  No offence to the artist but I'm just not into that sort of thing personally.

The "Mr. cynical" on my shoulder has convinced me that, along with the recent VW promo, Mark has decided to try to fund the tour before it starts, then any ticket sales will be profit (or as near as)!

You are right DMG, actually if MK had other musicians, like McIntosh or Bronze instead of Bennett and Worf, he would save lot of money, and not many people will hear any real difference, but Bennett and Worf are his friends, and... he has expensive friends with who he wants to share his tours...

The same goes with McGoldrick, he is great, but it´s not needed, most of the times he does the same than McCusker, in very few songs he is playing something different than McCusker, and it's not really necessary, but... he is a nice chap and it's great to have him on tour...

And now they will have Ruth Moody and Nigel, at least in the UK leg, more musicians to paid for...

I wonder when he will rent an orchestra to travel with him as well  ;D

Springsteen had 17 to 20 musicians on stage during the "Seegers Sessions Tour".

It can still be reached :)

I like switaki thought the initial email was for a 'Litho' as per the tours but was quite shocked to see the 'print' of MK and then the price!!
Anyway how about two drummers for the tour to add to the line-up! Welcome back Danny!! :clap ;D ;D

It's the whole party that has to be paid. And I don't only speak of the airplane. I'd guess that the folkies (no disrespect here) earn more money on the MK tour than on usual folk gigs. So there's the caring character trait of MK.
