Just to say : I would put this song in the same "category" as nobody's child and my bacon roll : laid-back style, no folkish at all

the beat reminds me of blood and water, and I think Rail king said Rüdiger
you know, this kind of atmosphere

lot of synths sounds, so maybe you will call it "fletcherish" too....

Finally a song that quizzaciously will like.
Very well done, but not my cup of Tea as I am so into Drover's Road right now. Definitely some Go, Love in it. I guess this will be a grower that I might like next year.

It certainly does sound like a soundtrack for something. A TV series, a romantic film. A very cool little song, catchy and jazzy.

But what with all the squeaking DJ (?) sounds? As if Guy has found a library of random sounds and want to use them all. Oh, Guy...

Not sure about Drover's Road but I really like this one, some Blood and Water in there as well :)

Personally I think it's his best record since the STP/TRD days, I don't think he'll ever come up with another STP record (how could you ever beat the lick in WII) but this is so much more and better than I ever imagined. Many guitars, great songs and he's got probably the best band in the world.

Oh, this one is fantastic. Getting a bit of Mas Que Nada (Sergio Mendez) vibes from it.

Side note: It's a huge shame Mark waited so long to add female background vocals. It works really well with his music. (Love Imelda May on Dancefloor!)

I listened to the song several times and I must say that, after hearing the most electric part of the album (maybe), in this song I discovered the Mark ... seventy years old. Quiet song and, at times, flat.

Pretty amazing little song. Yeah, a little bit of Rüdiger, little bit of Beryl (yes), little bit of Sands Of Nevada, a little bit of A Place Where We Used To Live. But it's never a bad thing to take some snippets from your old songs to make a new one, if it's so fresh and new. Bravo on this one!

What Mark's best line is is irrelevant. Your issue is that you feel he is too old sing this and moreso to an upbeat. Following this line of thinking, then he should stop singing a lot of his songs then, right?

The vibe of this song (especially the ending) reminds me of "Vangelis - La petite fille de la mer" a bit (not musically, but production wise). Maybe same sorts of synths was even used.

A flail is used in farming - as a thresher - in threshing - that is seperating the grain from the stuff round it - literally the wheat fro the chaff. He is using it as a metaphor  - the paint brush stripping away to what is important, the way a flail and thresher does in farming?

Thanks for sharing! I loved this version and started listening to Jakob Dylan on Spotify. After an hour or so, I thought, this is really lovely music, and I looked up his Wiki to find out he's Bob's son. Not sure how I missed that!
