If anyone is interested in meeting up on the day of the concert may I suggest the below:
Fábrica Moritz brewery/Tapas bar in the Ciutat Vella part of town.

This bar is a 37 minute walk to venue according to Google, which to me is "walking distance" but I appreciate most people would disagree with that!!
Hopefully weather will be nice...

The Palau Sant Jordi is in the top of one of the hills in Barcelona, quite high, take that in consideration because that 37 minutes walk could be all going up like climbing a mountain...

Isn't there another pub closer to the venue? because 37 minutes according to Google is probably counted without climbing, so could be almost one hour, which means shorter time for drinks ;-) and arrive at the venue exhausted

No. The venue is located in what was called the olimpic ring, where there are only olimpic venues like the Olimpic stadium, the palau sant jordi or the olimpic swiming pool.
Your best chance is to meet in somewhere around the old Arenas bullring, which is nowadays a mall with many restaurants and bars, and then walk until the Palau Sant Jordi, that is what anyone usually does to attend concerts at the Sant Jordi

I'll arrive in time to get the tickets from the mk.com box office, i dont think I'll do any meeting prior to that as i will be there on Easter holidays with the family.

I don't know but they are different venues in different places.
Yes, they are next to each other but they are different venues.

Binone, I think you're right and that are the box office windows for the Palau, but it rings the bell that also the ones for stadium are there as well...
Can't remember from my last time there.

There are 3 options, For the early hours (3 to 5,30, I recommend the old bullring (Arenas de Barcelona), an old bullring converted into a mall with food and beverage zones in the 4th and 5th floors. From there is 25 min. walking to the venue, or by bus. Box office opens at 6.00 PM, and the Estrella bar is beside the box office. There is another bar not far from there in the swimming pools, maybe less crowded than the Estrella's one.

End of April is very dangerous in weather terms in Spain, it's the period of time when bigger storms can happen... And Valencia and Córdoba concerts are on open air venues...

I hope none of his concerts get cancelled then, such as the Vaison one in '96. He'd have no such issues in Scotland in April, would he? ;)

Actually those cities are very sunny and warms at the end of April, beginning of May but it's also the period where the bigger rains happen, like in the DS song, "it never rains here, it's just poring down" it's usual that we get in one or two days the amount of rain we should had during the whole winter!
